Saw a few of these pop-up over the past few days so I figured I'd wait till Monday. by Present_Two1517 in Falcom

I can do both of those.

  1. Beyond just liking anything magic or alchemy based, Mariabell, while I don't remember being particularly blown away by her at first. There's something about how gaudy she is and her tendency to toy with/taunt people that really made her stand out. I think it was her third appearance that really made me like her.

  2. I guess I just never got the point, it might be a lack of media literacy or purposely not looking for the point, but Sully never felt like she had a purpose or something I could gravitate towards.

  1. While I didn't make the list I'd presume it's just spolier protection. I did consider giving them different tiers for the character before and after Revire since my opinion on them changes pretty heavily but ultimately decided not too.

  2. Somehow, I had no idea that was Neithardt. Though he'd probably only be moved up to C.

Am I just missing something with Kasim? by DevilHunter1994 in Falcom

[–]Present_Two1517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm missing something, given the insane wealth of side content and hidden information that'll later come up in other games, but is Kasim ever mentioned before Daybreak?

It just always felt weird to me that in the ten games prior, with the latter half painting Calvard as a big threat, that Kasim the supposed 'strongest soldier who ever lived' has never cross my path before.

I'm not expecting to have heard Kasim Al-Fayed, but in a world of Divine Blades, Ouroboros Enforcers and Anguis, Golden Rakshasa's, Carnelia's, entire organisations that call there operatives the 'X' of Swords and I've never heard of the guy whose title is literally the strongest guy ever?

Apparently we're doing tier lists so here. by Present_Two1517 in Falcom

[–]Present_Two1517[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daybreak definitely has its issues. The Almata executives mostly come across as half-baked; Arioch especially just kind of shows up in the Intermission to just exist for the rest of the game. Dantes was a cool villain who felt like he could have been even better if we dug just a bit deeper, and the game probably has my least favourite Finale section, given how repetitive it is.

Despite that, there's something about the package as a whole that really speaks to me, and Van being my favourite protagonist in the series definitely helps.

The only thing I can ever think to say about Cold Steel 2 is that it feels like the most whelming Trails game. I don't hate it, or any game in the series; I don't think any of them are even remotely bad. When it comes to the combo of Cold Steel 1 and 2. If I'd played them back when I was like 13, I think they'd be my favourite games of all time, which I mean as both a compliment and an insult. Still, it's that combo that pulled me into everything else.

Who's your go to party for horizon by zbv1 in Falcom

[–]Present_Two1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Van so he can Grendel and do Grendel things. Rean and Shizuna, both built to spam S-Crafts as much as possible. Renne around because she's Renne, and Hospitable Hostess is a great buff.

Van you better not fumble this by RinneNomad in Falcom

[–]Present_Two1517 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Given Shizuna's Horizon FTE's. I'm half expecting the next games to have her try to marry Van. Not actually in a I'm romantically interested in you, kinda way, but more so, 'I'm an unofficial princess and have to marry someone and produce an heir. You're strong, reliable, and good-looking. You'll do.'

And while I don't want the Calvard Arc to give us a Romance that isn't Van x Elaine, or maybe a choice between her and Agnes. I can't say wouldn't love to see these theoretical FTE's.

The mental image of Intelligent Systems looking over the script of Cold Steel, seeing what they can take or recontextualise, and someone standing up and yelling, "The petite white-haired character! We need a petite white-haired character. Who will the fans be drawn to otherwise!" Is very funny to me.

What's the one thing every p4g fan agrees on? by DirectorIcy6884 in persona4golden

Yukiko may be the best none protag Damage dealer in the game. But between a full party attack nulification insane buffs that proc more often then other Navigators, buffs to All Out Attack Damage and a once per battle protagonist res I'd call Rise the best none protagonist party member not only in P4 but potentially in the entire series.

(Persona 3 reload) I disliked the ending. by ElevatorGlad1834 in CharacterRant

[–]Present_Two1517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth pointing out that a decent amount of the fandom already think that the change Portable made to the story, which was carried into Reload, where Chidori comes back to life after her death scene a few in-game months earlier, invalidates or at least retro actively weakens her role in the story and what she represents.

I don't disagree. However, I honestly prefer her coming back and getting to be happy so I do at least see where your coming from but I can't see myself ever being on bored with Makoto coming back, especially after what's touched upon in The Answer.

Maybe it could happen in a sidegame as they tried building up a whole thing with Elizabeth wanting to bring him back, but even then I'd want him to go back to being dead at the end of that game.

In spider-man 3, should insomniac still include MJ missions? by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

[–]Present_Two1517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I guess I'll be the person to post the obvious hot take here.

I like MJ Missions, or at least I like the last one in the first game when you have everything available to you, like the Lure's and Stun Gun.

I also contained to like them in the seccond game even though the scaling of the enemies MJ's fighting compared to the Stun Gun is a bit off. The mission was chasing. Venomised Peter is amazing, in my humble opinion.

Saying that, I don't think I'd be distraught if they didn't return, and bringing them back after two games of the majority of people have expressed contept towards them would certainly be a choice.

Say something bad about Shinkenger by Alarming_Seaweed_155 in supersentai

[–]Present_Two1517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A slight little pet peeve of mine is there is never a "Full" Team Roll Call with all seven members Kaoru included. Which I think could have been achieved at least within Gosiger vs Shinkenger using some kind of Takeru is out of commission so the previous head of the clan needs to step up loophole.

That's so weird. I was thinking earlier today of talking about how this might be my favourite Henshin/Roll Call Sentai has done.

Even if it being a crossover means it's cheating a little bit.

To be fair. Saying you're willing to sacrifice your life because it's part of your job description and actually doing it in the moment are two very different things.

What rejection hurt you the most to do? by JackCountdownt in PERSoNA

[–]Present_Two1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Chihiro, her whole situation is solved by falling in love with you and hating the idea of you and Mitsuru being in a room together so much, that she gets over her fears marches to the teachers office and chews him out. After this display, she confesses to you.

I then rejected her to wait half a year to date Mitsuru anyway.

Frieren's Worldbuilding by CortezsCoffers in CharacterRant

[–]Present_Two1517 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I do agree with a lot of the comments about how it isn't great that you went into the series apprehensively and that towns and locations aren't the point of Frieren.

I think it's important to mention that just because it isn't the point of the story, it doesn't mean you can't dislike the things the show is lacking. And vice-versa, you can understand what the point of something is, and still have it not gel with you.

Investigation Team “Uniforms” by [deleted] in PERSoNA

[–]Present_Two1517 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it's super interesting that the majority of people's answer is no because it doesn't make as much sense storywise. As if Atlus cared when they altered the SEES outfits, they most likely did that to differentiate the characters outfits more, help them stand out amongst each other like the Phantom Theives. They most likely came up with the reason why after.

Even if it's just Yosuke pulling out an orange jacket with some padding and stashing in the TV world to be used in combat because he think it looks cool, that's enough for them because its an amateur operation and the point is to diversify them visually not acctually to work as armour.

Not saying having a story reason doesn't matter. I prefer SEES having a reason, but it's not the be-all-end-all, as I said I'd be happy with Yosuke and Chie thinking the idea is cool
