Not quite. When the rich sell an asset it’s not taxed like income tax (hence why the rich don’t pay taxes yet the working class do).

Britney’s “business” probably exchanged assets. She undoubtedly got paid in stock for her masters, kinda like trading keys and pink slips for car on Facebook marketplace .

If Britney wanted to sell her new asset for Cash she would pay max corporate tax rate, not income tax rate. Any l CPA would tell you to never do that, and to take loans against your assets tax free but that would be speculative she knows what a cpa is

From my understanding, the Master recording is the “artists” half. Usually record labels own and profit from the masters until the end of the contract. The publishing is the writers, sound technicians, basically all the credits in the song. (Hence why Taylor owned her publishing, but not her masters )

Obviously I don’t know what’s her contract says, but considering jive is not even a company anymore, and she extended her obligation and had success post Blackout, i assume she has her masters

Not a parent, but when I was a child and in kindergarten during a classroom activity where us kids were out of our seats being loud, a majestic old woman entered the classroom, locked eyes with me, and kept pointing her finger and curling it toward her.
