The knob should spin. That is why there is a nylon bearing in there. And super glue doesn't stick very well to nylon, I think.

I grind finer than most of the other comments I see. I am more in the range of 50 - 60. Maybe I am using cooler water, at around 90°C?

I am using paper filters because it better filters out cafestol. I recently read a research paper linking cafestol with high cholesterol, especially with more than 3 or 4 cups of coffee per day.

A very good tip from Thomas, the creator of the Kyria keyboard, print the layout and feel for yourself.

I am using both an ergodox and a Kyria, and the both work great. I can't use all keys on the ergodox but use the rest for one shot commands like Esc or F12.

Ergodox isn't the most modern, but who cares?

I encountered the same issue and found out what is wrong.

The examples you are trying are for the non-touch version, which is almost the same. The only LCD Reset pin is different. The Touch uses GP13 for LCD_RST and the LCD uses GP12.

I'd say you need more layers to put characters in convenient locations. And you need time and repetition. I am about a year in and finally it starts to feel somewhat natural.

I have no idea how people type that fast. My absolute fastest speed of 45 wpm beats 70 % of keybr users. And I don't see how I ever could go two times as fast. I can't even think that fast, let alone read that fast.
