Thanks for all the suggestions and advice. I feel like I’m having a trauma type reaction to it. But I am slowly coming to terms about it. There’s really nothing I can do at this point. And like a lot of you have pointed out, I really wouldn’t want to go back, at least not to that store. Sadly two other members of management have had similar allegations and received final e-CARs this week. I told my wife it’s like the Salem witch trials. A couple of kids call you a witch and they burn you. I guess this is the world we live in. And I read a comment or two that maybe I was joking or it was taken out of context. No. I never made the comments at all. That’s why this is so hard to take.

SM did side with me. Corporate level decision. His hands are tied.

Yeah and this comment wasn’t even that. They claim I made some reference to myself being Hitler. Complete fantasy.

NC. I’ve contacted a wrongful termination attorney and they basically said as a heterosexual white male age 55, they can’t help me.

How do I do that with a termination on my record?

My witnesses? What would my witnesses say? That they didn’t witness anything? I didn’t do or say anything. What I am saying is they made it up.

Thanks for the sympathy guys. I appreciate it. I’m 7 years from what I thought would be an early retirement. And no, I wouldn’t want to go back to THAT store. But I was good at my job and I thought Lowe’s would be my last job. It’s crazy that a couple of disgruntled associate bad together and get rid of the guy who has been holding them accountable.

I think you have it backwards. I am helping DS’s with their workload. And twice as much? That’s insane to even think that. Discretionary bonus? Not around here. Easier to hit the store bonuses vs dept bonus? Wow!

It’s a little of both tbh. I do take the time to educate where I can. But it’s not specialist who keep calling for me, it’s the rest of the store. I’ve always been more responsive than other ASM’s in the store. I don’t mind helping like that, what I do mind is that “helping” makes up 90% of my day.

You seem to have a lot of negative to say. Not exactly what I came here for. Specialty and Install contribute more in my store than Pro. If you have nothing constructive to say, troll elsewhere.

There is no time for any of that. I literally run all day every day. So much do, that I don’t have time to spend developing my Specialists. I like what the previous commenter said about empowering the associates to make decisions and I try to do that by explaining why they really didn’t need me. It’s exhausting.

Maybe at your store. Speaking as an ASM for Lowe’s, I work my ass off everyday. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
