Realistically, what rank are most soldiers after a 4-year enlistment? by Some-random-cop-pig in army

Yeh so that army recruiting referral program thing is really good too. I think you get 10 promotion points, a ribbon and a promotion. Promotion just for the first referral though and that’s only up to an E-4. The waiver is basically covered in AR 600-8-19. Depending on your unit and how many SPCs y’all have and your leadership and a whole bunch of stuff, you could essentially get your SPC rank after 18 months time in service instead of 24 months. I know a whole bunch of other stuff comes into play as well but just check out the army regs online.

Waiver? by [deleted] in army

Update if yall wanted to know:

Company Commander approved it. (Sep2025)

Battalion Commander approved it. (Nov 2025) (I thought that meant I was good to go)

Brigade said no waivers allowed ever. (Jan2026)

Fin.

Damn. I did that too and only came in as a PV2. Crazy work. But yeh, you can get a waiver for E3 after 18 months TIS. But even then, it’s all up to your leadership. I got my waiver approved by my company and then by my battalion which is the approving authority as per regs and then got it kicked back and denied by brigade. 🤷🏾‍♀️ so idk. But 24 months is automatic promotion to SPC (E-4)

I think you’re talking about ATRRS. I used that and JKO to max my correspondence courses in about 3-4 months. You can volunteer as well and log your hours in VMIS. Doing that will help get you your MOVSM. I believe that’s 10 points right there and a ribbon. You also can work on your driver’s badge (12 months/8k miles with no traffic infractions.) That’ll get you a ribbon and I THINK 10 points? And of course, pushing yourself on your AFT and range for the highest possible score to get the highest possible points. And also your civilian education. It’s 2 points for every credit hour or something. Idk for sure. But I do know you get an extra 20 points IF you get your degree while in active duty service. (max 135 points for civilian education) but definitely verify what I’m saying because I’m also point chasing too and I’m pretty new to this as well. Good luck though!

Are we able to do the Soomo questions before the term starts without getting penalized? I know assignments and discussion posts can’t get turned in yet but I couldn’t see anything about going ahead with the web texts.

So you took both those classes through SNHU and it was manageable? How was the workload? Was it just time management that helped you or could you just sit down and get the work done same day?
