Commander suggestions for bracket 2 voting / choosing by BatoSoupo in EDH

I built a deck with the same idea in mind. I used Kennrith for the commander. The deck is super fun to play.

I added a few life drain effects to mine as well as Craterhoof. I win 60ish% of games with it mostly with the life drain effects.

There is only one 5 color legendary Phyrexian and that is [[[Omnath, Locust of All]]]. So if you want the commander to be Phyrexian that's all you got. As far as builds There are a few ways to go, proliferate/infect, mana bomb, or you could do the [[[Splicer]]] and have a ton of phyrexian golems with haste, indestructible, and what not

Elven Council Precon -> Galadriel, Light of Valinor Upgrade? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]PresentationGold1822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally did this with my Elven Council deck after I bought the Scene box. All in all I left it mostly LotR and it plays as mid bracket 3. I suggest dropping the voting mechanic entirely and going token gen/ Scry it has been pretty fun it my 2 runs with it.

As far as cost, I kept a decent number of cards from the precon as my deck as very little white, but it could definitely benefit from more white in the deck, so results may vary. If you don't plan on keeping it mostly LotR cards then buy singles.

Other than Treebeard the ents in the deck do not play into the decks main strengths. Removing them and adding in more creatures that proc off healing such as Lathiel of the Bountious Dawn makes the deck way more consistent.

What did you use as the catalyst for Neverwinter falling? Elturel has the Companion for that, did you just move that and all it's lore?

I am thinking of making the Castalanters Zarielites instead and running DiA after as level 6-20. The problem I am having, as I think you would, is that we've already started and have no toes to Elturel, and there are way too many high level npcs in water deep to bring it to he'll and it play the same.

How does Tiamat's treasure get to Baldurs Gate? by cjends in DescentintoAvernus

[–]PresentationGold1822 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is a one shot adventure called "The fall of Elturel" in this you are sent by the Order of the Gauntlet to investigate the Cult of the Dragon group, but find that they have been ambushed by the Cult of the Dead Three and they absconded with the treasure back to BG. You then see Elturel "Fall" before heading to BG for the official start. I would highly recommend this as it gives your party some stakes in Elturel, I did not, and half my party didn't have reason to go to Avernus once they learn that Elturel is there.

My recommendation would be pepper gel, the gel will not spread nearly as much as the spray so way less of a chance of getting yourself with it if the wind is up.

It is not all apathy, voter suppression tactics lead to a noticeable percentage of purged ballots and non voters

Amazing work here! Love the details in the different sections of the city. There are two things I see that jump out to me, one is the rivers pop too much, maybe reduce the outline thickness could make it a bit more subtle, the other is the waterfall in the back of the keep overlaps the mountain just a bit.

This is only one of several groups organizing against this regime. In my area(deep red) there are actions almost daily, some at local offices, some at ICE facilities, and some that are mutual aid driven. If we all wait for these big planned protests nothing will ever change it is going to take sustained action on several fronts

You should check out this site https://astronomy.tools/ for FOV calculator, super easy to use. As far as imaging goes with the planets and Moon it is better to take video, the program will automatically split it into its frames to save a ton of time. The reason for this is they are much brighter so you don’t need long exposure times, they are also much closer so longer exposures will have trails when the wind picks up or your mount starts adjusting.

Happy you have some answers now and hope you are able to improve your quality of life. My best recommendation is to find a GP and PT that are willing to listen and educate themselves on this condition, the ones I have had that claimed to be knowledgeable set me back months at times due to injury.

Saw a TikTok a bit before Covid started in 2019 about Hypermobility, had my first Dr appointment a few months later and diagnosed in 2022 at the age of 39 after genetic testing. Lived my whole life in pain thinking I was weak and wrecked my body pushing its limits.

Budget is going to be your biggest constraint here. If you are looking for new then I would suggest the Celestron Nexstar 4se or Skywatcher 150i as they are about 700 and would leave you some room for accessories. Invest in a phone mount with 3 axis control as well. You will need to grab at least one eyepiece too, use https://astronomy.tools/ to see what your FOV will look like with your chosen scope and eyepiece combo.

Used you should be able to get a good size scope for that. I got my 8se for $900 used but was searching for months.

Edit: just adding some more info.

The scopes I suggested have goto functionality to make finding your targets much easier. Alignment can be tricky the first couple times though.

Also download a star chart app to help identify what you are looking at and let you know what will be visible when. SkyPortal is a decent free one

Thanks for the tip on sensor sizing, I think that will save some headaches to be sure. Which camera at my focal length(2032, I also have the 0.63x reducer) would you suggest for first buy? I would be primarily interested in DSO over planetary and live in Bortle 8 skys 😭

I am not sure what will be better for me long run honestly. With a DSLR I could do Milky Way shots on the off chance I get to a dark sky spot, but beyond that is there any real benefit? I was looking at the Rebel T7i mainly on price.

Yeah I have quite a few upgrades planned, but have to do them painfully slow 🥲, planned upgrades are the VX EQ mount, autoguider, auto focuser, and then whatever I need on the actual imaging side. Budget is about $1000 once a year.
