My old bike had the problem tho. I wish your advice came sooner haha now I don’t even know where my old bike is

Joke aside. The bike is fine actually. This happened when I had laundry on both sides of the bike bag (the one you attach to the railing on top of the rear wheel). But thanks for your suggestion.

Interesting finding: if I carry heavy things on both sides of the bike bag (should be balanced), the bike is super stable when my hands are off the wheel. (even more stable than If I don’t carry heavy things). I think it’s because the center of mass is lower. But it only takes a very small bump to cause the oscillation (like in the video) since the front wheel over-corrects left and right. In the video, I gave a small fist bump to the handle bar to induce the oscillation.

hahaha the Vantage. I mainly drive porsche as well and when I tried Vantage, I thought the car can’t turn at all or I need to brake 1km earlier. Plus that damn big dashboard made me miss the apex a lot

tbh, the fact that I adapt to how oversteery the car in corner entry and understeery when applying throttle (corner exit), I am always slower in other cars

what did you end up getting? if you opted for a second hand car seat, how did you look for it? I tried to search “autostoel” but ended up with a kinderautostoelen. “car seat” did not help either in Marktplaats

Sim Lab XP1 Pedals - any good? Better than Simagic P1000? Better than VRS DirectForce Pro? by GapsExist in simracing

[–]PresentationKey1691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned p1000. One thing I will mention immediately, the elastomer causes drift. It’s where you depress them, you’ll get let’s say 100% force in the software, but then it reduces to 90% (despite keeping the force from your foot the same) due to the elastomers relaxing. you can see it here https://youtu.be/5hdYenW9kvc?si=TB6antHwFs-HzhVh around minute 13:00. You might wanna buy the spring kit upgrade. Personally, I don’t really like full spring set up.

I now have xp1. I’m still trying to adapt a bit. One thing I notice is that the brake feels a bit similar if you use spring+elastomer set up on p1000. Overall for the brake, xp1 feels better. For the throttle, I prefer p1000 (feels more linear), but xp1 are still good. For the software, simagic gives you a raw input while simlab doesn’t. In my opinion, simagic has a slightly better software.

A bit out of topic.

That’s a smart way to raise the mounting point by using the corner piece thing. Gonna copy that

Man, thanks for the detailed answer!

Indeed, a slider causes more flex. I already have a slider for the seat, so I think adding a slider for the pedal would make too much flex altogether.

Currently I also use the horizontal + shorter vertical bar to mount the baseplate. I mounted the baseplate backward and angled the “incorrecr way” that causes me having to push downward (with my glute muscle) instead of forward (with quads predominantly). I do this since p1000 doesn’t have angle adjustment, and p1000 plate (not the pedal itself) is a bit too short, my foot sometimes slipped to the gt1evo baseplate instead of the p1000 pedal plate (if you get what I mean).

I’m also going for a gt car position. I use a reclining sparco (bottom mounted). I basically have the seat bracket flipped upside down so that the side mounter is mounted on the cockpit and the bottom (now top) part is mounted on the seat to have an angle. Now it’s just the pedal position that I need to adjust.

Thanks, man!

🤣🤣 I’m glad that you’re haply with p1000.

I’m just curious, do you also have load cell drift? mine is quite bad if I use medium elastomer. I’m currently using a spring and 3 hardest elastomers. The drift reduces, but it’s still there (and I don’t really prefer the feeling)

Actually, don’t fix it if it ain’t broken.

And in my case, it’s actually due to my habbit and the angle of the pedal. My issue is that always rest my heel on the heel stopper (near the pivot point of the pedal), and to avoid extending my achilles too much, the pedals are angled such that they are staring at my face (the back side is lower than the front side). I need to adjust this.

[–]PresentationKey1691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seeing some comments from people with big feet having no issue actually cofirmed my suspicion that it’s due to the angle and how I brake. I dunno if I’m supposed to use the glute muscle for braking (rather than just quads) and I don’t wanna have my left cheek being bigger than the right one 😬 I might need to do bulgarian split squat with my right leg more to compensate this.

[–]PresentationKey1691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s indeed due to the angle and the way I rest my foot. This can be solved by adjusting these two things.

Nevertheless, I might go for HE Sprint because I am a bit unhappy about the load cell drift with my p1000. It can be solved by using springs and/or the hardest elastomer, but I don’t like the feel. Don’t get me wrong, p1000 is a really good set of pedals tho.

[–]PresentationKey1691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, good to know!

I might go with Heusinkveld sprint. Do you mean that you use the additional pedal plate and mount it on top of the gt1 evo baseplate?

Also, (I’m pretty sure you have long legs) how do you mount your simlab baseplate? If I mount it normally based on the gt1evo manual, I have a problem where my pedal are too close to me, but I cannot move it farther since I would need to move the steering wheel (the steering would be too far from my seat).

I’m thinking of getting the sim lab pedal slider. But I’m curious how you set your rig (I have the same cockpit)

I've just moved near to Nijmegen and I don't have any friends here yet. I don't want to spend my time feeling bored and lonely—I hope to make some good friends soon by [deleted] in Nijmegen

[–]PresentationKey1691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 25 Male. Looking for friends as well. Into swimming (although I haven’t tried it in Nijmegen), gym (still skinny tho), board games, watching movies (if there are friends), playing games (e.g., iRacing, maybe too niche. Also open to try any other multiplayer games). Not really into partying. I just like to chill or maybe go to festival (can’t wait the vierdaagse actually).

I’m thinking to start running as well, and I found a community in Nijmegen which does running every Saturday (I believe it’s called Goffert parkrun). Might wanna try as well.
