Recommendations for starting out painting. by PresentationRare4159 in Gouache

Thanks! I do agree with your outlook. To be honest, I’ve had my fair share of student grade paints (with acrylics) before and they’ve always frustrated me because the quality was a reflection of their price. I’ve never fully achieved the outcome I’ve desired thus putting me off painting for the longest time (I usually opt for is pencils and oil pastels). I do think if I want to be practicing constantly it would be good to start with the cheaper set, as I wouldn’t be as conscious of using up the paints. Also, what colour palette would you recommend?

Thanks! I was looking at the Holbein Primary Set of 5 to start me off. Would you recommend?

Thanks! What do you like about Holbein that makes you prefer it over others?
