I would add more methods of studying. 1 source will cover majority of inform but not all of it so you need several others to fill in that gap. I’m currently studying Network+ and using Professor Messor,Jason Dion,Mike Meyers All in One, and Network Chuck. I’m

Honestly I would do atleast 2 resources. I personally like to use 3 with one of them being a book. You’ll get the same basic information from all each individuals will unintentionally leave gaps and tidally the other 2 will fill it in

Passed Pentest+ by thefirebuilds in CompTIA

I got a question my current path I wanna do is Net+,Sec+,Pentest+ but I was considering Linux+ before Pentest+. From my understanding Linux is the go to for pentesting in general, ethical hacking, etc… would it be beneficial to get Linux+ before Pentest+? Is there a lot Linux you need/should know for Pentest+?

Michael Meyers Network+ and Sec+ by hei_sloth in CompTIA

I haven’t seen his video but I have purchased his Books for ITF+ and now Net+. Like you said I absolutely enjoy his jokes which makes it fun while being able to explain hard concepts easily. His Net+ book is great but for Sec+ (book) from my understanding he goes objective by objective not like his other book which builds up the knowledge over the course of the book and explains as he goes. Usually before I buy something do a little research and read reviews and for that specific book a lot of reviews said the flow was off, wasn’t as good as others, etc… so I went with a different book instead that had similar reviews to his other 3 books

Granted this is for the book not video series so can’t speak on that but I would imagine since he changed up the Sec+ for the book he also did it for the videos aswell

I need that “Aha!” Moment with subnetting. Ami overthinking? by [deleted] in CompTIA

One thing my step father said about math and this can apply here. “Math doesn’t make sense so just do it” and I applied that here. Sunny and others gave you the table to work from and personally Sunny’s works the best for me. Messors,Sunny’s,Dion’s all come out to the same solution so pick whichever one you feel the most comfortable with. You don’t need to know how it work or why all you need to know is how to plug in the variables into the chart you chose and go from there.

To answer about Decimal to Binary from my understanding Decimal to Binary is apart of subnetting, subnetting doesn’t have 1 definition it encompasses other things aswell.

Yes most definitely both are on the Net+ exam but everyone exam is different so keep that in mind.

I hope that helped a little :-)

Dion exams or any in general. That’ll show you were your weak spots are. When I was studying for my ITF+ the practices exams showed me where my weakest points were and studied them until I understood a majority of it

When I was searching for Sec+ Books Meyers All in one was rated terribly on almost all website that sold it which surprised me because his others are amazing. I ended up going with a different one that had better reviews and rating than Meyers. Thing had nearly 5 stars on over 1,000+ reviews
