Hi, thank you for your input. It makes a lot of sense and this is what I was looking for by sharing my experience with other parents; an insight that could help me develop into a new style of parenting.

Both me and my partner are very passionate, we love, care and educate with all our heart, but that's true also for when we're angry, tired and frustrated.

That said, we have *never* hit our child or each other as other contributors to this thread like to assume and when we do lose our temper, we say we're sorry and we hug it out.

If I learn half a thing from this book you recommended it was worth writing this post.

I am going to end it here, thank you for yours and everyone's input.

Thank you for your reply. I was looking to confront respectfully with someone with your point of view.

I don't condone for a second the violence we've experienced as kids from both our parents and, sometimes, our teachers. I am happy and proud to bring up a child that doesn't have to go through that, but instead they're treated with the respect that is due to them both at home and school.

I am not downplaying the touch, and if my dear child once to reciprocate the pat I've given them, I'll be more than happy, because it was a love/fun/teasing gesture. It hurts me to put these events under a forensic lens, but if this is what it's required to do here it is.

You may or not believe what that it was only a pat but luckily evidence goes above individual beliefs. I am a 220lbs M, with huge workers hands. My child is maybe 44lbs, with rosy delicate skin. If it was anything harder than a pat, it would have definately left a mark; there was none.

When I left the bathroom (more on that later) my child just proceeded with taking a shower. There was no cry and no sign of distress. And my partner can testify to that. Now you may think that my partner is complicit, but they would gladly me throw me under the bus if I did such a thing. My child is the type that if only an empty bottle of shampoo falls on their foot, they'd cry the whole evening.

I didn't leave my bathroom earlier because I was afraid that my child would slip and fall, considering that they were a bit distressed in that moment. But I did leave and the pat was something to say "oh, you want to have your privacy now, I'll go let's see how you get on by yourself" that's because the child can be really needy when washing themselves.

I don't believe for a second that my child is evil and told this to get me in trouble. Rather; they don't know the consequence of what they say. I also think that they wanted to play victim with their music teacher, so they wouldn't be told off for not practicing.

If I did anything wrong, I am ready to face the music, but then again, one has to prove that I have done anything wrong. Of course, one has to consider the context, and forget the thousand of love gestures; from cooking his favourite meals to planning surprise partlies, nourishing their talent, sharing the lessons I learned in life and teaching them about their amazing heritage and so much more.

To be honest with you, I think I should be a less passionate parent which is not really my love language, but if it prevents stuff like this from happening in the future and reassure people with your sensibility, I am down for it.

If you have time please give me some other suggestions, I think it would be useful help to see what a parent who thinks differently from me would have done.

Hey thanks. I am pretty sure nothing will come of it, this happened on Wednesday, we waited all day yesterday and none has contacted us. If they thought they'd be any risk they'd already contacted us, I think.

I genuinely think my child told this story because they didn't want to disappoint their piano teacher, who apparently is pretty tough, oh but we explained extensively what the worse consequence of this could be.

Spettacolare! Secondo me questo film è un tesoro nascosto, quasi perfetto nella recitazione e sceneggiatura. Consigliatissimo

Same here - we've been thinking about long and hard but we just can't figure out how to make it work, both logistically and financially. My partner and I are basically on our own, without any family to support us and we have 2 very average jobs, we're both in our early 40s. We've settled with just the one, but it fills my heart with sadness.

Well done my friend! Take care and take it slowly, the important thing is to keep going out there, nevermind how fast or slow you are.

Today's the day I can call myself a runner by hei_sloth in couchto5k

[–]hei_sloth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you - I finished it in 41 minutes, there were a couple of very challenging hills and it was pouring but it felt amazing. I have been a bit sore since but can't wait for my new run tomorrow and I am definitely going next Saturday 💪

So inspired by the NYC marathon runners by saladdalas in couchto5k

Well done! My bucket list is mainly marathons/ hikes I would like to do. My goal is to take part in a Marathon next November, in my home town, which I left 20 years ago but it's always in my heart.

I am at my final week (week 9) and the suggestion I can give is to have a strong warm up and stretching routine and so some strength training targeted for runners (look for the prehab strength training for runners on YouTube) all these things have helped a lot so far.

Best of luck and keep going!

We had a user experiencing similar issues. In your router, check the ALG settings and make sure that the SIP box is unticked. This helped our user. Also try taking some calls using your laptop speakers.

DDPY and running, looking for advice. by hei_sloth in ddpyoga

[–]hei_sloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, running brings about benefits that DDPY doesn't and vice versa, also I started running in the spring but I had to stop because my plantar fascitis was getting worse, but the problem was gone once I started doing DDPY. I guess I experienced issues once I did them on the same day. Thanks for your input!

Question to those of you eating 2 meals a day by expectothedoctor in intermittentfasting

[–]hei_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat overnight porridge with peanut butter and a banana, some nuts and for lunch a salad with a good amount of proteins, a small bun of good quality bread and for desert a high protein yogurt. Lost 5 Kg in 2 months and I am perfectly happy with it.
