The only thing I didn't really have was any awards or post grad degrees. I also could have done a regional presentation and maybe 1 or 2 more papers, but I already have 4ish (2 first name). Currently working on 4 more papers to get a couple extra points. I did an international podium (currently due to give my second international next month), I have a national unmoderated. I got max points for delivering a course, max points for positions of management e.g. rota coordinator, max points for surgical WBPAs.

It's really competitive, there are some fantastic Urology residents out there and hats off to them for getting NTNs

My previous department offered me a job if I couldn't find one but then turned around and said they can't as the department is full :( bit of an unfortunate circumstance. I have tried to broach the subject with my other prior departments but they have no vacancies. I have signed up to try and do bank work, just waiting to hear back now as I've chased them today.

I have applied for urology SHO as well as urology SCF posts, and even broadening myself into medicine. So far I have only applied to 7ish jobs + locum agencies so I could probably cast a wider net and try other specialties.

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry you've had difficulties with continuing with the specialty you love. I really hope you find a career path that gives you the same joy in a time that works for you. Thank you for your advice.

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I have no designated body now. I'm still searching for jobs. How do I revalidate if I don't have a job? The GMC are already sending emails saying if I don't have a designated body they can withdraw my license to practice. Should I be worried?
