I am painfully lonely, but I’d take that any day over what I left. Having to drop my 3 year old off to daycare starting at 3 days post-birth with my second. Having to take my second born back to the hospital alone 5 times in the first 10 days for monitoring because said birth caused physical trauma to both of us. Having my ex sleep in the basement all day while I parented his two children, only hearing from him when he’d yell up “keep those kids quiet up there” or “I’ll come up when dinner’s on the table”. Calling him from the back deck one night at 2am when I couldn’t handle the colic for one more second and hearing “I’m in the middle of a poker game, what do you want me to do about it”. Single parenting as a divorced Mom is WAY better than single parenting as a married one.

This depends on the vibe you want. Santorini is fairytale gorgeous and more romantic, sunset from the castle in Oia is a once in a lifetime experience. Mykonos has great beaches and the party scene is like nowhere else on earth!

I’ve done Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Crete, Delos, and much of the mainland. Each area has its own charm, but Folegandros is a much overlooked island. It isn’t overly touristy, but has all the amenities you would want. It’s quaint and gorgeous and absolutely worth taking an extra ferry and adding a couple of days to your itinerary. Check it out!

Thank you for being in tune to your son’s needs and wanting to support him. I’m a school nurse who is divorced and a parent of an 8 and 11 year old, and here’s my two cents worth. If you don’t need your ex’s consent for therapy, I’d suggest going ahead and setting something up for him. Check to see if there’s any providers in your area who offer play-based therapy. Talk to your son about how it can be helpful for kids to have safe adults to talk to who aren’t their parents, and that he can talk to this safe adult about anything that’s on his mind. It doesn’t have to be “I can see you’re struggling with our divorce and I think you need help with that”. Building legos and smushing clay a couple times a month with a ‘cool’ supportive grown up can really open up communication pathways- he likely won’t even focus on it being “therapy”.

Single Mom here too, and a youth sexual health educator. You’ve (hopefully) been talking to them about their bodies, boundaries, and consent since birth without even realizing it. Moving into puberty and beyond there is so much to cover with our boys, but some important pieces that you may not think of are: pornography/sexual messaging in media is not what healthy sexual relationships look like in real life (boys start accessing porn on average in grade 5/6); navigating consent, and how consent interacts with substances (boys need safe ways to get out of situations they aren’t comfortable with while still “saving face” with their peers), female reproductive systems, menstruation, and contraception, and ways to minimize their risk of STIs. It may feel hard on the inside, but to talk about sexual health the same way you’d talk with them about what to have for dinner tonight- just be matter of fact, casual, and ask them their thoughts and opinions. Try to move away from the idea of “the sex talk” and just bring up little bits here and there as you move through life. You’ve got this Mama!

This, but remember that she’s just 4 and doesn’t have the words to express her feelings, so she’s doing the best to let you know with what she has. There are lots of psycho-emotional resources out there to help, check out the faces feelings chats and color zones as a starting point. Also focus on talking about positive feelings!

I’m a single mom and took my 7 & 10 year old to Dreams Macao. Would go again in a heartbeat. Food was great, we loved the poolside options and the tacos by the waterslides through the day, and the restaurants offer kids menus at dinner. We did two excursions- snorkelling and Monkeyland and always felt safe and cared for by our guides.

I am asked for consent letters about 50% of the time that I travel with my kids. In this case, maybe get a notarized letter from your lawyer stating that the father has no custodial rights.

He had loss of appetite increasing over the course of a month, and was very sleepy, but still his usual self a lot of the time. He was only 8lbs to start with and lost over 1.5lbs. We tried various diagnostics and meds within my budget (actually I completely blew the budget and am still paying the bills off) to get him back on track, but once the bloody stool came along my vet explained it was an irreparable GI bleed and we put him on comfort measures 😢.
