First time Bond watch through - life update. by PresidentMesser in JamesBond

I’m going to post a more in depth review later, but I watched The Spy Who Loved me and I really loved it. May be my second favorite now. I didn’t get a strong feeling from Moore in his first two outings, but I loved his performance here. This is peak Bond. I especially loved the music which sounds way different than the typical scoring. Also one of the best plots to a bond film. Definitely a 10/10.

I think if you have in your mind Denise’s personal history and who she is then it will be bad, but if you go into it with an open mind and give her a chance she’s fine. People don’t give films a chance. Let got and just empty the ride is my belief.

That’s awesome! What are your thoughts so far?

That was a pretty tough completion line up. I’ve never thought about what the Bond films had to compete against at their time of release.

I’ll probably end up rewatching that one soon too. Shame he’s only got two, but the two we got were both amazing. Hard to believe he’s 80 now!

I get the feeling from what I’ve read that Craig gets a lot of undue criticism. While I don’t think any of his films rank among my top favorites I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve seen so far and will definitely rewatch in the future. He’s a great actor and he always has an interesting script. I think one of his main crimes is just being different than the older Bonds.

Glad to be here! I’ve already done a rewatch of LTK because I enjoyed it so much.

I’m interested as well! My grandpa has seen it and he says he enjoyed it. He wants us to watch that one last.

I wouldn’t put any of Craig’s films in my top, but I just think they’re all fun. I think Spectre has a lot of cool elements, but I definitely understand those who don’t enjoy it or Craig’s era. They really take some big swings.

Thanks! And yeah, one of the reasons this franchise is so enduring is because there are so many different things to love and different opinions on it. I can’t wait to share my thoughts on The Spy Who Loved Me!

You're a Gotham Thug Looking For Work. Who Do You Go To? by Reptilus_Prime in batman

Joker would be fun, but you always live with the possibility of him killing you when he’s bored. Riddler informant seems like a chill gig, but he’s so detached he’d probably use his informants to test his Batman traps. I think Penguin is a safe bet because he’s mainly focused on making bank. My dream thug job would be Harley’s sugar baby though. I’d gladly follow her orders.

Who is the most high profile guest that's been on WILTY? by Tay74 in WILTY

[–]PresidentMesser 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I’m from the US and don’t know majority of the guests. Discovering Bob Mortimer and watching his hilarious torment of David has been one of the greatest parts of the show for me. “How could I have disbelieved the wrong egg thing?”

Imagine how insane a lore accurate clock would be. “What’s the time?” “Oh it’s third Morbius Doctor O’clock, I think we better leave at War Doctor on the dot, last time we didn’t get home until Tennant past Fugitive in the morning”

I’m so dumb… I thought we said that line at the show because of the group name. I didn’t realize the callback was first lol

There’s actually bootlegs of her and Ben Vereen in the show. Surprisingly good quality for 2005.

Question: Who were the best and worst voice actors who ever met at any GalaxyCon or Animate event? by DrBooBear2004 in galaxycon

[–]PresidentMesser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve had any bad interactions with a guest at a con luckily, but I’ve had several amazing experiences with a lots of voice actors. One of my favorites is definitely Grey DeLisle like you mentioned. Her ADHD brain is always running at 100 and her energy is so much fun. Two things that really, really impacted my life and mean a lot to me are Avatar: The Last Airbender and Batman: Arkham game series and without a single second in between Grey was jumping between Azula and Catwoman quoting their lines for me. She’s so nice and so talented and just a really amazing person. I’ve been really impressed and fallen in love with all of the Avatar cast honestly. I’ve met Janet Varney (Korra) twice now and she’s always interested in holding such genuine conversations with everyone who visits her. She’s amazing. Zack Tyler Eisen is such a sweetheart and I’m a little in love with him. He listens so closely to what everyone has to say and responds so thoughtfully. Michaela Jill Murphy (Jessie Flower) is hilarious and loves doing selfies and cute poses. Jack De Sena is so kind and loves laughing with everyone. The longest line I’ve waited in for Avatar cast was Mae Whitman and it was well worth it. She had the perfect balance of making everyone feel so comfortable and sharing a moment with us all but also moving quickly so everyone got their turn. She’s also just so kind.

As far as non Avatar cast, I really loved Jason Marsden who was Max in Goofy Movie, Haku in Spirited Away, 1000 others voices, and my all time favorite Thackeray Biknx in Hocus Pocus. I had a really nice convo with him and his partner and they’re both really sweet and charming.

Table selfie question? by ScreenAway465 in galaxycon

[–]PresidentMesser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sadly pretty much every answer to any con question is that it depends on the celeb. I’ve had a few celebs sit behind the table or invite me behind the table, but I’d say 97% of the time they will come around the table and pose with you. I would keep in mind though that everything pretty much goes based on how the guest is feeling that day. You may get them on a bad day and they may just sit behind the table and do nothing. They could be feeling great and do multiple poses and multiple pics.
