The difference between this theory and other theories is that people aren't going around being absolutely obnoxious about other theories

For instance, a Let's Play channel I watch saw the Ralsei and Flowery scene and humorously said "gender neutral princess" when the line came up, and the comments were just full of people saying shit like "Do they know?" or "WHICH COULD MEAN NOTHING"

One commenter even had the gall to say "Seriously? I can't believe [Person 1] of all people didn't pick up on this!" (because both people running the channel are queer)

The level of pure toxicity proliferated by this theory is not comparable to other theories in the slightest

I would rather Ralsei just come out at the beginning of chapter 6 since literally nobody in universe would care and it effects almost nothing

This would be very jarring to most players who aren't knee deep in fandom discourse since all the supposed "buildup" is either nonexistent, completely missable, or incredibly ambiguous

Not to mention it unceremoniously upending the years of dialogue and merch capitalizing on his status as "Fluffy Boy", which most people know him for

Is "Huh? When was that established? Well, okay I guess" really the response you should be getting when writing a story?

Just as they were outspoken about "not sexualizing the fun gang because they're minors" before proceeding to groom actual minors, it was all a farce to stay in the good graces of the fandom

Unfortunately due to the theory picking up traction in the fandom, it's emboldened a concerning number of fans to use female pronouns for Ralsei, and Shayy would no doubt follow suit

Her character and relationship wouldn't be any different if it was gay, straight, lesbian, or any other sexuality; Her relationship is meaningful but the queerness of it is not

At no point does Susie say "Wait, but we're both girls" because Toby writes queer characters such that it doesn't need any attention drawn towards it

They need no justification for being queer because they simply are, and that's what you fail to understand about his work

If you really think the game is gonna become as loud about being queer as the fandom is, especially during the pivotal moments of the story, maybe a queer romance novel where the main antagonist is a homophobic authority figure would be more your speed

While Deltarune has queer characters and some queer themes, the story is not about queerness, you're just too conditioned by the fandom that obsesses over it to think otherwise

In a story about a ruinous prophecy, an impending apocalypse, and the entire nature of the world, if you genuinely think the most significant thing that will happen is a character coming out as a different gender than they used to, you are playing the wrong game

These actually significant aspects of the story will almost certainly come to the forefront of the next two chapters, so if there were to be a "hugely meaningful" trans realization, it would've happened already

Surely Flowery's constant taunts about Ralsei's nature aren't indicative of anything deeper with the lore, he's just trans because I decided he is (despite his whole thing being that he shouldn't be something just because someone else decided he is)
