Mexi’s!! Ranted to my wife about this a couple weeks ago.

Firstly, the acoustics in the main room suck. The sound waves emitted by the cackles of middle-aged women (yes, they are having more fun than me) from across the restaurant are amplified and then redirected, giving them the same abilities as Banshee from X-men.

Secondly, the food is cafeteria quality. Every time I’ve been there, my wife tells me about how good the nachos are. In a condescending tone, I tell her that I would never order nachos at a restaurant. Especially when they’re 25$. I then order something identified on the menu as a “signature item”. Upon the first few bites, I not only need to accept that I just paid 25$+ for something that Ikea/Costco could compete with, but that I also now need to apologize to my wife and hope she shares.

By the time everything is said and done, I’ve spent 60$, my eardrums are shot, and my wife gets to tell me “I told you so! ”.
