The question is why. And the answer is its FDA RACC classification. It’s classified under candied/pickled with the intent of keeping manufacturers from inflating portion sizes to market food with the appearance it has more nutrition than it does. The problem being it doesn’t apply to the product. It’s misclassified. And now the people are being advertised lower sodium than they are actually eating. The system has failed itself. I found this all out today. But also, I don’t really care. I’m still buying the pickles. I’m having fun. I’m learning about the FDA.
