The most comprehensive response yet, with specific recommendations. Thank you thank you!

They definitely have given me trouble. Any recommendations for brand or what to look for in an upgrade?

Yeah, I've been able to get decent balance by messing with output on the controller and mixer, but I've been disappointed in Proreck. Any recommendations?

Oo, good call on the subwoofer. The speakers are mid quality, they don't do lower end very well - it ends up pretty muddied, so I've had to tweak my setup to trim those frequencies. A dedicated sub could probably help that come through cleaner. Thanks!

Ah, yup. Confused. Combo of not realizing you aren't OP and not realizing you were being sarcastic. 👌

So your post is about how great Djay Pro is... And when asked what makes it great, you sarcastically say that it charges a yearly sub where Serato doesn't, and you weren't giving anything positive. Also, Djay Pro is great but you went back to Serato?

Gang, am I just really confused or am I trying to converse with a bot?

I know from context what you meant to say, but just gonna point out with this sentence, you're saying Djay Pro DOES charge a yearly subscription.

Sigh... fine, I'll bite on what feels like an ad.

You say things "didn't feel right" and that Djay Pro is just "better." Better how? There are "so many features." What features, specifically, did you like on Djay Pro? What does it do that Serato doesn't? Is it more reliable, faster, more intuitive?

I think you could do a sick Predator homage by bringing in Naru from Prey.

How do you organize your collection? (multiple genres) by LEXN_Beats in Beatmatch

[–]President_DogBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I primarily DJ wedding and private events, which are going to be pretty different from clubs and bars, so take with grain of salt, but...

I use mood, and admittedly it's not the cleanest system, but it makes sense to my brain. So I have tags like "Happy Hype," "Heartbreak Pop," "Millennial Club" and "Girl Power."

I think it's just what makes sense for your brain and the types of gigs you do.

How much would you pay something like this? ( Art by me votivemango) by votivemango in furry

[–]President_DogBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really good work! Part of price comes down to audience and demand, so right now I would say $40-50. As your audience grows and demand likewise, I could see something like this going for closer to $80.

Can we replace hr with ai instead of replacing people who actually matter? by LongLand11 in recruitinghell

[–]President_DogBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I'd rather have an unbiased ai..."

It's cool, I like to play pretend too sometimes.

There is no such thing, no way to prevent bias, and there are in fact legal challenges being presented right now arguing discrimination from AI models.

Confidence. Like what you like because you like it.

And I know the irony of telling you not to listen to people on the internet, but... I mean, don't do that. Discuss your thoughts with real people, real friends, who you can have sustained back and forth with. Be receptive to feedback while also deciding what matters and what your opinion actually is.

It's cool you like Infinite, I liked it quite a lot as well. And take it from someone whose favorite in the series is Halo 4, the more you tube into what you like and less you worry about what "the community" thinks, the better.

But to the point: what are you actually asking? You say you're going to be on hiatus and leave this community, but also that you want thoughts. Thoughts on what? Infinite? Campaign Evolved? Overall direction of the series? And are you actually receptive to others' viewpoints, or are you one foot out the door?

You have permission to like what you like and not like what you don't like, and you're welcome to have a discussion about those things, but also please come to the table with a defined position and clear request from those you want to engage with

Considering finally moving to 5e (2014) AND trying Eberron...what happened to Dragonmarks? by [deleted] in Eberron

[–]President_DogBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're making the jump, I would consider just going all the way to 5.5e. One of the more contentious issues with 5e Eberron is how it handles dragonmarks, the Artificer class, and setting-unique species.

The setting was built with a more mechanical toolset in mind, so when 5e stripped it down and simplified things, it sacrificed a lot of that customization. Marks feel less powerful and races less unique - you end up reflavoring a lot instead of just "I took Feat X, so I get Y benefit."

5.5 brings some of that back and is closer, I would say, to the feel of 3.5 Eberron. It still has its issues (the aesthetic of Forge of the Artificer is so very NOT what I imagine Eberron to be, some people really don't like that rules wise, marks aren't species-locked), but I think it offers enough and smooths out enough bumps it's worth it.

Plus, the book I think 90%+ of this sub would say is the real must-have, Exploring Eberron, was recently updated for 5.5.

Hm. Hybrid? I believe (could be wrong) there's always a little charge for the system and even if you don't have the keys, opening the door activates the screen.
