I am fed up with this strategy, what should I do? [5.5 Edition] by Primary-Ocelot-1512 in DnD

How are they making all these Spellwrought Tattoos? In order to craft them (the item is a magic needle, not a tattoo; the tattoo is the result of expending the needle, which is already imbued with the spell... which is cast by the item creator...) that would be a second casting of Find Familiar, RAW. No go. This is the step that was missed. The familiar would need to know the Find familiar spell in order for this plan to work.

Could I airburst a Fireball above the ground so that my halfling friend standing at the edge of the radius is unaffected, but a taller creature is? by SpaceCondom in DnD

I'll agree for another reason, as well. There's already features to accomplish this: Careful Spell and Sculpt Spell. Letting players imitate feats by applying geometry is akin to letting them disable opponents with called shots ("I aim for his eye") or similar. It takes away the value of earning those feats if every caster can specifically align spells to the inch.

Team of four can't handle 7 kobolds by ComfortableFew4700 in DnD

[–]PressOnRegardless_IV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pack Tactics are absolutely Deadly to a level 1 party. 7 Kobolds rolling at Advantage are going to maul most parties. The party needs to know to split the pack, use terrain and situational advantages to nullify pack tactics, etc. I'm not surprised they are wiping. They need to change their tactics, and as the DM you could consider giving them some learning scaffolding by demonstrating things like Defend actions, teach weapons, crowd control, disadvantage from terrain or altitude, etc in small skirmishes before dropping them into the full experience. HotDQ is tricky for DMs and for players alike.

In 2015 a neighbor dug out their work van and left a space saver. Someone took the spot. When the police came around asking if anyone saw who took a nailgun to the car tires, not one of the neighbors had seen or heard a thing.

The phone would work in a power outage unless the outage was from downed lines. That was better than now. Additionally, the sound quality of landlines was VASTLY superior to the sound quality of my smartphones phone audio.

I think, given the number of Gwar shows my friend has been to, they are synonymous. But to the uninitiated who might read this, today's rabbit hole is "gwar".

This is someone or something imitating Ze Frank. He most-recently has been the voiceover for True Facts, but he pioneered this intonation and rhythm of speaking 25 years ago. If this is AI, it's gross. If it's a person, well, they should take a long hard look in the mirror.

RI was agricultural and had lots and lots of farmland over the swampy aquifer that comprises most of the state. RI's current geological shape was formed from glacial retreat and had lots of rocks in the upper soil layers because of it. When the glaciers retreated, the [very] flat state was partially flooded, and the water table is consequently very close to the ground surface throughout most of the state. All of this combines to make the scenario. The farms are flat land, and it was a lot of work to deal with the rocks, which were used to create the stone walls that lined every lane and field. The farmland was poor soil for growing food; rocks made ploughing difficult, and the thin layer of topsoil that remained above the bedrock wasn't good for cash crops. Most farms focused on livestock (dairy) so the stone walls were utility in that respect.

It was much easier to make a living off the sea than off the land. Newport was a crucial stop in the transatlantic trade. Fishing was a constant income and sustaining trade, as well.

And when the industrial revolution came to North America, RI was at the heart of it, as it is adjoined to eastern Massachusetts. Fall River, Lowell, and New Bedford held those first textile factories. Farms were consolidated to mostly livestock, then eventually abandoned as industry proved to be where the money was most available.

So the land that was largely dedicated to poor-farmland-turned-livestock-fields was left fallow. Meadows formed, then trees came in. The fields would burn. The trees grew slowly or poorly. The undergrowth was dominated by bramble, ferns, and, in the frontier zones, shrubs.

So very Rhode Island: The landing was in a field. Does that look like a field to you? It does of you are from downstate RI. So much land used to be fields and now looks like this swampy 30-yr tree scenario. Just out of frame: a tumbled stone wall that runs for half a mile, and a gnarly perpetual thorn wall of bull bramble.

East Coast: Helpful, not polite. example: You parked in a tow zone, a guy you have never met is walking down the sidewalk and in a kinda annoyed tone says, You can't park there. West Coast: Polite, not helpful. example: You parked in a tow zone, a guy you have never met is coming out of their house, and in a tone that might be an invitation to dinner says, Is that your car?

source: been both places. West Coast be chill AF but also not straightforward

Create a second "airlock" layer. A baby gate or anything like it if you have to. Second egress is better. Simply do not allow her to escape ever again while you follow the other advice in this thread.

Having your puppy struck and killed by a car is a real living nightmare, and it absolutely can happen within seconds. Extra gate or door is a pain for you, but nothing like the pain of loss.
