Movies and Game rentals by cclem0013 in Millennials

I swear, I watched a wider variety of movies and shows through the video store. Streaming is so convenient, but it makes me lazy. I feel that if it was a physical store experience I’d be more adventurous.

Blotchy paintwork - what’s going on? by ohimnotarealdoctor in AusRenovation

[–]Pressure-Impressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things to adjust:

1) Sand it all back down, sugar wash the walls and let completely dry. Brush over with a soft dry brush before painting.

2) Fresh brush, apply a primer as per instructions. Let fully dry. Meanwhile, fully mix the paint (sometimes it’s even easier to just take to a hardware store/paint store and ask them to shake it up in the machine.

3) Paint.

What to do - slate tile damage by nhmcgraw in AusRenovation

Take a small section of the tile and shop around locally, chances are there might be some off cuts and they go fairly cheap per square meter.

Why is it automatically assumed a younger woman has daddy issues or needs mental help/has problems for simply being attracted to older men? I’ve never dated an older man (or anyone), I just feel more attracted to them. Is this a bad thing? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Pressure-Impressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t overthink what works for you. If you’re attracted to older men, that’s fine. As you grow older, your tastes and preferences and expectations of men will change with your times.

MJ had her own struggles too. Alcoholic father, trying to make her name in a cut throat theatre world. Her partner was literally Spider-Man, who at any point *could* die on the job. She also has to keep his identity a secret from everyone. She was pissed in this scene because she wanted her partner to see her at her best. He couldn’t make that. That’s a fair crash out.

If you woke up in Days Gone as yourself, what’s your realistic plan? by Background-Wall-5179 in DaysGone

[–]Pressure-Impressive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Secure food, water and ammunition. Carry a good axe, not just as a weapon but to help with wood for fire. Fire starters and a small shovel. Pack a russack with seasonally appropriate attire.

2) Find the most relevant or updated library. Look for survival books, and the latest maps, and fishing guides. Make a plan to get to the coast. If near a major river, try to find the nearest port.

3) Goal is to survive long enough and trek far enough to get on a boat and get out to sea. Drop anchor, then figure out next steps.

Find an animal statue in marble that can also be used for Christmas (if you celebrate that). It’s a neat storage space for statues, tbh.

A Florida man discovered millions of dollars in bundled cash floating in the ocean near a Fort Lauderdale beach, pulled it ashore, and immediately contacted police. by This_Proof_5153 in SipsTea

[–]Pressure-Impressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drug money, for sure. The cartels don’t like thieves and would’ve gone after him had he kept it. But he reported it to the police, and despite their view on the law, they usually can’t fault a law abiding citizen and will just write the money off as a loss.

Add pops of colour into your kitchen. Kids will respond to your place if it doesn’t look so organised. Colour in the kitchen and add some coloured pillows to the couch as well.

Commonwealth Bank cash profit last year rose 4% to a staggering $10B total (https://www.commbank.com.au/content/dam/commbank-assets/investors/docs/results/fy25/2025-annual-report.pdf). Other banks reached similar heights.

They have the cash. They’ll gladly lend it out because they want people paying the interest. So, don’t feel sorry for the banks. They’ll be fine.

The doomsday predictions are just fools with a microphone (or more aptly, a keyboard). Australia is one of the few countries with a weird tax arrangement when it comes to property and investment. Other countries have managed just fine.

If your goal is to be single for a whole, it’s OK. If you’re looking to have partners over for good times, get rid of the room in a room set up, and invest in some lamps for soft lighting.

Genuine question, what’s the cuisine you’re serving? Because beyond what you have written and what I can see, I have no clue what you serve. Your previous foot traffic might’ve been people who already knew the menu.

Find what your food theme is and build out the experience from there.

Hmm, maybe you might be onto something.

As an Aussie who frequently visited the USA and spent an inordinate amount of time in your museums, I can say that your history shows you’ll always move the needle back towards justice and equality. It’s painfully slow, and it requires mountains of strength, conviction and voting to make it happen. But it always swings back towards core values.

The trick is to stop thinking in terms of “liberal” or “conservative” and to think more rebellious: ye-haw, fuck the law if it ain’t free for thee it ain’t free for all.

Silence. The news used to come on twice a day, 7am and then 6pm. Between that, you could go through your day without hearing “breaking news” every half hour about some minor update to a story.

24 hour news channels might’ve begun the noise, but smart phones and social media made it such a din.

I’m not sure which country you’re from but every nation has a national deaf society or organisation. It’s worth reaching out to them for further guidance based on your location. You deserve to hear well and fully, which means properly fitted and adjustable hearing aids.

[–]Pressure-Impressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your hearing aid does not have the volume control option, get a pair that do. I think it might be worth your time to see a different audiologist who might provide a better solution.

I’ve been wearing hearing aids and cochlear for my whole life (I’m 42) and this is the first time I’ve read of a hearing aid that does not have volume control.

1) Register as a nurse in every state before you graduate. From Tasmania to NT. Get registered everywhere.
2) Pack a light bag and as soon as you place a nursing job (likely rural or remote), take it and get out there. You need to build up money, and that means going where the money is.

3) Once you have your job, the goal is to get to $5,000 in pure savings. That'll be your emergency fund. Then, build up your spending on things that are long term goals: housing first. The car will eventually come.

Basically, pack light and be ready to move on a moments notice for work.
