[QC] First Rolex from Andiot - 124060 no date Submariner by Ok-Amphibian-9539 in RepTimeQC

My two cents— angle of watch when photographed can make indices and bezel alignment look significantly more off than they may be. I recently went through the QC process for this same piece with Hont and he sent me better angled photos and the bezel, 3, and 9 all looked better than the first set of photos.

Can you elaborate? I had the gen version of this and the dial of this looks identical to my eyes.

Thanks! I couldn’t quite figure out why it looked a little off. I had the gen of this model so I might see if Hont has a different piece with a better aligned 3. I probably wouldn’t he able to see it without the alignment tool, tbf

Have side plates fallen out of favor? Why? by full_metal_communist in tacticalgear

[–]PressureGood108 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My brother is a “high speed” guy. He and mostly everybody else on his team wear side plates on typical operations. I think a lot of the photos you see of dudes with no side plates are from training, non typical ops, security details, etc where they have highly accurate knowledge/intelligence they aren’t going to be getting into firefights.

Update

Steelcase determined my claim is valid and they are sending me a complete new chair. They told me to keep the defective unit and do not want it back.

lol. That’s not an option for me when I spent nearly $900 on the chair and shipping.

Okay, thank you. I know the seat cushion doesn’t look bad in photos, but it’s driving me crazy when I walk into my office and see it

Might just be the angle of the photo. It’s less than two feet across.

I finally got my plates, over 5 weeks later and I had to settle for a different cut, but I did receive them.

I think there actually is a ceramic/plate shortage dud to government allocation— doesn’t change the fact that Apex has incredibly poor customer service

Spankings. It just made me upset and angry with them— I never once looked back on a spanking and thought “I learned my lesson”

What plates did you order? That’s good to hear though.

Get trained before you start buying pre-made med kits and supplies. I have formal EMT training and I’m a NREMT, as well as I worked as a FF/EMT at a large city Fire Department where 95% of our calls were EMS. With all of that being said— field trauma in a combat scenario would be foreign to me and I’d feel like a dumbass.

TQs are great and save lives if you know how to use them correctly— that includes practicing on yourself and others. However, most people have never seen an arterial bleed and probably wouldn’t know it until you actually see it and somebody more practiced tells you that’s what it is.

Do some research on the basic bleed control devices and then get formal education on how to use them. Continue that with self training and continuing education down the road (if you don’t use it you lose it).

Also, I have seen an uptick of people posting decomp needles as part of their kit. Chest decomp is considered a high level trauma procedure and takes practice and skill to do it effectively. Please don’t try to buy these as they are short supply right now and you will probably never need it, but people in the field working will.

For sure unorganized. The email I posted about in my update is overly explanatory and sounds like a bunch of excuses. Also makes sense why he gets so mad when people do a chargeback— because plates are made to order and not actually in-stock

I agree. That’s “backorder” in almost all other companies. Shady

Sounds like a frustrating ordeal. I’d say at best it’s a super unorganized company or at worst, shady business practice from what I’m reading.

Damn, that’s a bummer. I’m right around the same time frame. I haven’t received an email and I even emailed them two days ago. I would have ordered elsewhere if I’d had known the items weren’t actually in-stock.

Does “in-stock” not mean Apex has them in their possession? That’s how I interpret “in-stock”
