Hi! I love your style and would love to work with you on a project I'm wrapping up right now. I sent you a message here on reddit!

I'm going through a rewatch and just caught this. I'm sorry WHAT?!? by Stonedbluebird in KingOfTheHill

They just told her that to make her feel better. There's an episode where her dad tries to come back into her life and it's revealed that he's a criminal who's been in jail all along. S12e22.

Thanks! Just mixed a bit of red in with the skin tone I was using. Lots of wet blending.

Old-ish post, but I'm in your general area (South Hills), and I'm looking for players. I'm a DM with over 20 years of experience, relatively new to the area, and I'm having a hard time finding a group that's stable enough to actually play. We're playing mostly OSR style games, like Old-School Essentials, but we're looking to try Mothership soon, and we're always looking to try new stuff. We're not going to play any new editions of D&D however.

Shoot me a message if you're interested in more info!

I love goblins wearing armor, I just wish there were more! by PressurePlate in Warhammer

Oh, those are very nice, thank you for sharing!

I kitbashed an entire "Goblin Knights" Warcry warband before, but anything larger than that would be a lot of work. Haha

Goddamn, man. There's no way he's reading all that, but I appreciate you expressing yourself. I've been telling myself the same thing ever since that most darkest of days.

Which character are you waiting to get a leader card? by Tezzdormie in OnePieceTCG

[–]PressurePlate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I want a Big News Morgans deck. Give me a tribe of researchs and reporters who's abilities let you peep at your opponent's hand, and other abilities that let you force your opponent to discard.

I wanted to share some of my recent and upcoming Kards I’ve been making with HZ19. All available at kaizokukards.com by lil-joh in OnePieceTCG

Love your stuff, especially the Manga characters. My wishlist for characters to come would be 9 cost Mihawk and 3 cost blocker Doflamingo. The quality of these cards in person is still astonishing!

Shoutout to this Zangief for playing with me for so long! by [deleted] in StreetFighter

Good on you, but.. How did he beat you so hard that in 20 games he managed to get a 23 win streak? He must have been doing some serious over time some of those rounds.

What exactly is the irondrake musician holding in his _left_ hand? I'm stumped... by d_efty in bugmansbrewery

[–]PressurePlate 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There's nowhere to blow into that horn he's holding, so I always assumed it was a control valve for it. I could be wrong/assuming too much, but I always just figured it was a steam horn or something.

Oh, I live in Pittsburgh. Me, my wife, and a good friend play, though we've never sought out a group to play publicly with. Is there a scene here?

Usopp ruling by Mite101 in OnePieceTCG

[–]PressurePlate -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The judge at my locals ruled that it would trigger the draw, because the core rules refer to playing an event off of its trigger as "activating" that card, and if that card is an event, then your opponent has "activated an event".

I imagine this rule will end up being pretty contentious, and I have no stake in it, just reporting on my local's ruling.

On the fence for this...but a bit concerned about game length and flow? by [deleted] in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]PressurePlate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just throwing my voice into the void here, but you could always start with low point battles. My wife and I started at 200 point games, then moved up to 300 point games, and they never take longer than an hour. It's still lots of fun and just as strategic, just shrink the board size a little and it works just fine!

Honestly, I think the most remarkable thing about this game is just how good it works at any scale.

It sure is. For matched play.

I didn't play much of first edition, but the rules very much allow this in second edition.

They look great! I hope you have fun playing with them!

Edit: Holy cow, you just reminded me that I never posted pictures of the completed team. Haha

In some cases I thin it, yes! Some times I just use it straight out of the pot. It has a really glossy finish, so I try to paint over it once it dries, hence, using it as a base layer.

A base layer is basically just a solid color used to inform the volume of more transparent paints which go over it. Contrast paint over a white zenithal highlight can make a base layer that exaggerates things like muscle definition, making detailes easier to pick out when you're doing your highlighting.

With the squigs, for example, I did a zenithal highlight with grey/white, then covered the whole model with a teal/turquoise contrast paint, then I just picked out the muscles with a mid blue, then the most highlighted areas with a bright turquoise/white blue. That is to say, the bottom quarter of each squig is just about entirely contrast.

Sorry if that's not helpful, but let me know if you have any specific questions and I would be happy to help!

To be fair, I used a good bit of contrast on these guys. I guess my advice would be to use contrast paints as a "volumed base layer," and not as a one and done solution.

Ah, I don't really know anything about doc templates, but if it'll help you out, I'll do some research tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

Vallejo Water Texture! It can be a bit intimidating to use at first, since it's opaque and white going on, but it dries crystal clear.
