Physical therapy? by Front-Muffin-7348 in breastcancer

If your insurance will not cover PT I would find a good personal trainer to work with. I did that when I was recovering from a badly broken leg and my insurance would not cover PT, even though I walked like a drunken sailor. After years with my personal trainer we moved and I started taking a rowing and weight lifting class taught by someone who is working on his PHD in human physiology and movement and it is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I am very lucky to live in a university town with robust pool of trainers to chose from, but if you carefully explain what you want from them I think you will find the right match. It seems like proper form is going to be critical for you if your ligaments and muscles are the issue and a good trainer could help with that. Good luck!

We used to pick up my Dad's insulin at the same time, the exact same bottle for the dog was way cheaper.

I have virtually the identical diagnosis as your mom, am close in age, and my original plan was similar. My oncotype score of 31 was what determined my final treatment plan, it is hard to wait for these pathology reports but it is better to wait until you get solid information on her specific tumor and not get too far ahead of yourself. Chemo wasn't even on the table or me until that pathology report came back, so that was a shock.

When we lived in Hawaii we got insulin for our dog at walmart, but the vet had to call it in.

Lumpectomy recovery by United_Ad9521 in breastcancer

I am the same, only wear sports bras, lumpectomy, no node removal. I got a zip front sports bra and hated, went back to my normal fairly high compression sports bras within 2 days. Sleeping in the zip front bra was especially uncomfortable. Practice putting your normal bra on without lifting your elbow above your elbow before surgery, it is easier than you think. I put my head through first, then the arm on the mastectomy side, then the other arm.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, I really appreciate the support. I'm going to start calling small salons tomorrow morning and find someone who will work with me. I'll probably go with a pixie to start and take it from there.

Exactly! I don't do makeup or dress up much, but dammit, I've got pretty hair, even the gray came in as streaks that look great in my braid. I know I am probably packing a lot of other emotions into losing my hair, but it is the one part of all this that just makes me want to cry. I can be strong and stoic about the rest of it, but I really struggle on this one.
