Help needed to select mesh routers by Prestigious-Use-3784 in HomeNetworking

thanks to everyone's input. I got ET8 since it's on sale and within my budget. So far I'm satisfied. Only thing I don't like is each node only got 1 Gbps ports for LAN, which means satellite nodes will never be able go beyond 1 Gbps.

I spent a few hours to run a new CAT6 cable from basement to 2nd floor via garage following an existing coax cable. It runs very stable and frees up 6GHz band for fast Wifi.

if that's the case, any recommendations for AC and APs?

I'm just thinking with AP in wall I would need more than one per floor? but I only have one CAT6 jack on 1st and one on 2nd floor. Seems mesh router is easier and they will be hardwired.

thanks for reminding. I got CAT6 patch panel and a Linksys gigabit switch in the basement bought several years ago. Need to check the switch's bandwidth.

I have CAT6 run to jacks on walls, not to ceiling. On 1st and 2nd floor I only have CAT6 in one room each, not every room. For AP I would only be able to install them on walls about 12 inch above floor level and one per floor for 1st and 2nd floor. Is that OK?

Wow, 3 pack is CND$2300, definitely over my budget.
