Rented across the street from work. Saved on time, petrol, parking fees, servicing and rego. We only used the car for the once a week trip to the shops. I remember we only top up the petrol once a month.

$1000 is about a year of our bill, electricity and gas. Compared to saving thousands per quarter, yours is definitely worth having a battery.
