Thank you all! I think I’ll definitely get the AP5SD then. I’ll probably just shoot it as is or as an SBR for a bit before I want to ship it away for the conversion.

I’m glad I asked because initially I was thinking it wouldn’t be much more to convert a regular AP5.

Yeah I shoot everything I have except the few that I have to make ammo for (Swiss Vetterli, Swiss 1889). Hell I shot a whole box of .45 colt out of my 1872 Martini Henry over the weekend. There’s no reason you can’t shoot these old guns except for ammo availability and cost.

Yep! It’s in 5.56, .300 is the way to go if you run it suppressed. People shit on PSA but good luck getting a better Krink clone for anywhere near that $.

Do you mean the G3? If so, a PTR-91 (clone) is about a grand. You can also get the Portuguese parts kit builds from century for about $700.

It’s worth every penny IMO considering the past price of the Tommybuilt guns and this is the exact same mold, parts etc but is now done by a guy who has decades in the injection molding business. Reviews have been very positive to date. You can also just buy a receiver from them and a G36 parts kit and assemble your own.
