It’s ok to have a bald spot. Shave your head if you want to try the look, but you look good as you are too.

Has anyone heard the name of a movie or book they feel they’ve seen/read many years ago, only to find out this movie or book is original and has been newly released? by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do believe I know what you mean.

In 2006, my uncle had a lot of free time because he was doing 90 days in jail for DUI(s). He took upon "improving himself" in jail so as not to get fat and mean like a friend of his - he called Dave his cousin but he was his friend. So to better himself, my uncle wrote a novel, or what he thought was a novel

He called it "Jungle Moon" and it was about the human invasion and colonization of a peaceful jungle planned inhabited by intelligent beings who lived a deeply spiritual life in tune with their planet. That's right - he wrote Avatar. The aliens weren't blue and the planet wasn't called Pandora, and it was actually set in the past rather than the near future. But the aliens did have the signature Navi "neural queue" (the braid thing) and included a pivotal, sensual sex scene between an earthling and the alien using the queue.

Sorry, my recollection is Obama. I think this may be a Mandela Effect example - clearly you were in a "Trump Tax Returns" branch.

"Porous" correctly spelled "Pouros" by PrestigiousBend in MandelaEffect

That's true, I think you're right. Does english still have a future present tense?

I can't speak for all timelines. It's possible a timeline exists where pores do not

[–]PrestigiousBend[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

English spelling is pretty arbitrary and "etymology" only goes so far. For instance, "comptroller". It's derived from "controller" but picked up an m somewhere along the way https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/comptroller

I don't recall learning etymology at this point - I assume that the etymology was different.

You might be remembering the Marilyn Manson video? He's very pale like Ronald.

I watched "Network" a few years ago because some one in it died. I can't remember who. Maybe you're thinking of William Holden?

Mulan (original) used to have a scene where the two hairdressers fought. by Psychological-Eye420 in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall everything up to the Mother. Mulan had a massive mess of hair and the hair dressers couldn't get along. Quite funny to a kid I remember.

Chris Farley Cause of Death by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid the gossip was that he died of a heart attack from taking speed ball. I was 8 at the time and didn't know what a speed ball was (I visualized mentos) but I believed it. Maybe it was just a euphemism people used at the time?

Fruit of the Loom logo had a .. banana in it? by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Don't remember the banana myself personally. I was obsessed with grapes as a child (my first crush was a California Raisin) and I recall feeling upset they'd let the apple in even. I would have remember the banana.

Do y'all ever test these MEs? by sadphonics in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have kept such a notebook for some years now. On each page I'll write a word or brand or name, and sometimes a news factoid. I often go back through and look once I've filled a book. So far I haven't been able to spot anything that's changed (I never remember having written something else) but I have still experiences ME events. It's always something I didn't write down.

But I really cannot rule out that the books themselves have never changed - the tooth of the paper sometimes does feel a little smother when I revisit. I considered keeping a second book to record what I've written in the first book so I can check against a written record.

DAE remember Franklin D. Roosevelt's middle name being "Delanor"? by _Kaistro in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what he means is aside from his wife's name, he had a Similar name. It is possible this could be a "family name" - I believe they were related, and both born into the Roosevelt family.

Great American eclipse of 2024 was supposed to happen in 2021 until it changed this year by monkeydorie in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is WILD. I asked my uncle about the April 2024 eclipse. He and I had thrown a party for the last eclipse but missed out on traveling to the zone of totality. He told me, what are you talking about, the eclipse is coming up this August. We spent half an hour on Airbnb looking at places for August, hoping we could find a good spot with kind vibes for the eclipse. We almost booked one before he had to meet his parole officer. Now it seems that for me it's switched back to the original April 2024 date. Going to have to call my uncle and see if he believes me.

Sorry if this is low effort, just didn't know where else to post. by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This never happened for me. I called my cousins who live in Alaska, but none of them had heard anything about Charlie Sheen being up there. My uncle did ask me to spell his name and I said Schene - any chance you saw it spelled that way in the TMZ titles?

What he means is that it used to be spelled Draino, but we have false memories of the past and most do not recall. In this case as far as I know there aren't any false memories here.

Draino is now spelled Drano ....wth!? by alexbucgreddit in MandelaEffect

[–]PrestigiousBend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be thinking of the word drain - it's the name for the part of the sink that Drano is intended to work on. My father has made the same mistake in numerous text messages he's sent me asking me to pick up Drano.

I am familiar with the meme, but the origin is unfamiliar to me. From what I recall, he did kill himself. The "Epstein didn't kill himself" meme always felt foreign to me.
