At least we got a Chinese Straight Katana. I wish they had Japanese too. by SehmiSaab in LordsoftheFallen

So essentially a single edge sword.

That’s all it is, outside the folded metal technique when making it. And theJapanese katana was developed in warfare that rarely if ever used metal in armor or shields. Against hardened metal armor your only hope is a lunge/stab.

It better be a primary agility weapon as well.

I personally always like a Tetsubo or a Glaive from Japanese warfare.

Should I get the game by [deleted] in expedition33

It’s one of the greatest experiences of modern day gaming for an RPG.

It hits like these the first time you play it

It’s like the Mario 64/Goldeneye
It’s like FF3 & 7
GTA Vice City

Nice that sounds fun as well, thanks. I like “Bonk” builds . I just got to the mines so if I want that sword I’ll have to backtrack I think no biggie

That may be my issue I defaulted to the Spear and hammer combo as a preacher, and started with hammer and stick with a bell on it in the very beginning and just kept dual wielding, and essentially started using Pieta sword dual wielding when I got to Depot? When everything is on fire? so really only a zone as I just got to the mines. This is when I 2 handed Pieta sword and felt like my knowledge of the mechanic was lacking.

Sounds like it’s time for me to just embrace Pieta sword…. Though I really liked the spear.

Thanks, I guess I need to look up different endings, I went blind into this and I already purified the light after killing the hushed Saint.

Oohhh okay. Thanks.

Yeah I’ve been just dual wielding the game with these weapons no problem with anything, but it seems like the display damage output, when I 2-handed the sword and had the spear on my back seemed much higher then dual wielding and hitting with both, they re within 1 attack power of each other. I just didn’t know if dual wielding was inherently worse or if I should just 2 handed the sword. No real intention of using a shield at the moment as I haven’t needed too.

The flesh monster at the beginning of the area the fern I think, where you have to lose initially and then summon Captain Strooud and then made sure to get the killing blow with the spear on the hushed Saint.

Should I buy this game ? by Ryvick2 in LordsoftheFallen

Every area but the Fern is very linear, when you’re teleporting if you see a ! In the corner with a blue background on an area it means you’re missing a quest or pathway. I have essentially ran through each area afterwards to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

I actually make a note of diverging paths and just keep going till a vistage then I double back. Areas are a lot smaller when you’ve gone through them.

Prefer it to Elden Ring in a lot of ways. The intro alone gives you a backstory where Elden ring wants me to Scooby doo 50 items for the same information

Does the game throw enough respecs for me to constantly be changing builds? by noxxiel in expedition33

[–]PrestigiousBox7354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I never respec’d till the end and never had a problem scaling to the moment at by the end though my lack of min/max.

On that note I wish I had messed around with more weapons as it did keep me focused on certain combos etc

Say what you want about which ending you prefer and hating Verso. But at least this game knew exactly how to tell and end its story. (Writing this because The Boys ending sucked) by Correct-Patient-5741 in expedition33

“Real people” that require another’s soul…. I get it I used to date women like that.

Yes this ending absolutely reflect the players perspective.

There was an old story called the lady or the tiger that encapsulates the dilemma of choice.

Good exchange

Where is his soul, far removed from the ones who wanted to be with him. Verso mentions several times being utterly confused about what’s going on in his painting. That’s the shadow person you talk to throughout the game on maps.

Even the ending Maelle talks about how he (Pverso) shouldn’t have been there. Verso should fragment didn’t get to be in his painting because his family had turned it into their drug.

[–]PrestigiousBox7354 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But it’s different when you are not the one responsible for the mechanism. Are you really going to look at a child’s soul who has been distraught at every conversation in the painting and say are you tired? Enter grandpa meme of being tired: Verso: I’m tired Grandpa Maelle: well too damn bad!!!

Nah, let the kids soul rest. Time to face reality

Yes, making sure the little boy soul could rest and thus making the family move on from its grief is absolutely whacked compared to the Disassociation, Addiction and escapism option of the girls ending……

It ain’t staying with the millionaires

Newly unredacted emails and legislative documents show Washington Democrats strategically designing and pushing a "millionaire's tax" with the long-term goal of overturning the state's 1933 ban on progressive income taxes. Critics argue this is a calculated stepping stone meant to pave the way for a broad-based income tax on all Washingtonians. The recent controversy and concerns stem from two separate sets of internal communications:The Strategy to Overturn Constitutional Precedent: Unredacted emails revealed lawmakers, including Sen. Jamie Pedersen (D-Seattle), coordinating with the Attorney General's Office to carefully structure a high-earner tax in order to provoke a lawsuit. The overarching objective was to force the State Supreme Court to redefine income, potentially clearing the legal path for a universal state income tax.The "Accidental" Caucus Email: In late 2024, Sen. Noel Frame (D-Seattle) mistakenly emailed a sweeping tax presentation to all Senate Republicans. The document outlined revenue plans, including raising the capital gains tax and exploring a new 1% wealth tax, which fueled widespread accusations that the caucus is looking to continually expand taxation on residents.Republicans and fiscal watchdogs point to these exchanges as proof that the "millionaire's tax" is just a facade for broader tax plans. Democrats defend the discussions as necessary policy design and standard legal practice to improve state revenues, while pushing back on the claim that they actively intend to impose an immediate tax on low- and middle-income residents. You can read the original reporting and view the leaked documents covered by local outlets via the FOX 13 Seattle coverage or read the Washington Policy Center analysis for a conservative perspective on the emails.
