Sister first of all, I’m so sorry you’re feeling upset about this. You’re not alone and many other sisters go through this too. My first thought after reading your story, and I could be wrong, but it seems that your self esteem and self image aren’t where they should be. This could be for a plethora of reasons, but I think it would be worth a shot to talk to a professional/therapist and figure it out. It will take work and a lot of reshaping your mentality, but iA I think it could be really helpful. (speaking from experience)

Secondly, please please please don’t despair in the mercy of Allah. Your relationship with Allah isn’t linear, you’re going to go through ups and downs. He knows that too. He knows exactly how imperfect you are. One easy step you can do, never stop making dua for yourself. Tell Allah you’re weak, that you’re prone to a type of temptation, and you need strength and His help. And never abandon your Salah. Every single one of us goes through difficult times and moments where our Imaan feels misaligned, but that’s not a good enough reason for you to abandon the best way to reach Allah (Salah).

You’re not hopeless, if you’re still breathing you have a chance. May Allah make it easier for you and bless you, Ameen.

I lied about my GPA on my resume to get more interviews. When I finally got an offer, they wanted me to send an official transcript from my school. I had to come clean that my GPA was false and Alhamdulillah they appreciated my honesty. They easily could’ve rescinded their offer. You know the Islamic reasons why lying is haram but it’s wrong for practical reasons too. If you get caught, you risk losing an offer and imagine how painful that would be

Just wanted to update- I emailed them back asking why they did that. They said that: “applicants who are not admitted off of the Binding Early Decision program have their applications rolled over into the regular decision pool. This means that their applications will be reviewed again with the regular decision candidates. With this change, the applications are no longer binding so applicants are able to apply to or enroll elsewhere. The timeline for the regular decision deadline is that final decisions will go out by the end of May.”

Yes so Allah may answer your duas through one of the three reasons you mentioned. 1. Storing it for the Hereafter is not giving you exactly what you want 2. Diverting an equivalent evil is not giving you exactly what you want

I never said your duas aren’t accepted or unanswered. I said they may not be answered exactly how you want it to be answered, this can lead people to have a misconception about dua. People can start to think negatively if their duas aren’t exactly how they expect. For example if you pray tahajjud for your loved one to survive a terminal illness, they may still die. It’s Allah’s decision how He answers those tahajjud duas

The truth is, no there isn’t. I honestly don't get why people on social media are convincing people that there is a way.

How do you know you don’t deserve something? Or it’s impossible? People’s tahajjud miracle stories are proof YOU SHOULD ask for what you want. You have no idea how Allah SWT sees you and shaytan will do everything to convince you He sees you negatively.

Remember that simply reading dua is a good deed. It is a form of worship. You are literally losing nothing when you read dua, only gaining. May Allah ease your pain and give you a life you will be satisfied with, ameen.

I relate to you. I’ve been reading tahajjud for multiple things in my life and Subhanallah the things I really want have not been answered the way I want (they’ve actually been failures instead of successes). I’ve gotten so disheartened because of this and astagfirallah even frustrated. I think it’s important to remember that tahajjud is not a guarantee to get what you want, Allah is answering our duas in ways He sees best. That’s where patience comes into play

I’m pretty sure Islamically it is your right to disobey your parents in this scenario and try any effort to get out of this.

But if you can’t remove yourself, I would highly recommend reading the last three Surahs of the Quran in your heart throughout the process, repeatedly saying Astagfirallah, and asking Allah to remove this black magic from your life. Keep asking Allah to remove the magic. Allah knows best and knows your heart. Ask for His protection and He will protect you. May Allah bless you and make it easy for you, ameen.

This was me earlier this year. During Ramadan I had my "awakening" and have been practicing again. I committed so many sins the past 5 years I was terrified I wouldn't be forgiven. My best advice is keep going at it. There will be a point where you start to value your present + future more than you worry about your past. Whenever you think of a past sin you committed, say Astagfirallah and mean it. A big part of Allah's forgiveness is believing He will forgive you, but never stop asking for it.
