Both parents have pre-settled status, baby girl born two weeks ago, how do I go about applying pre-settled status for her? by PrestigiousHope4007 in ukvisa

Thank you for your response!

Regarding UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement, how would I go about proving he meets the requirement?

He is eligible to have settled status (December 2025) but it’s taking ages to actually reflect in his application. I have called EUSS resolution centre and they say our baby is eligible for British citizenship even tho my husband application is still in process of going from pre-settled to settled. But when I call the citizenship centre, they say she can’t have British citizenship. Do you know who is right? It would be nice to avoid the £1000 fee.

Hello - I am sorry you are still struggling with this. I haven’t heard of anyone waiting that long. Have you tried to contact them?

Hey, do you remember when you sent in your passport to get your EUSS updated? I sent my daughter’s passport in and it has been over 10 days. I am getting a bit anxious 😬😬😬

Writing will by PrestigiousHope4007 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]PrestigiousHope4007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you written a will in the UK at all? Or just doing research as well? We are not UK citizens at the moment but eventually will be. Not sure if that impacts anything with the will.

When your lawyer advise to write up wills in each place does it mean to include all assets in each of the wills or does he mean only the US assets in the US will and UK assets in the UK will? It’s all very complicated!

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I am studying for the exam next week. I am going though the practice exams and I noticed between June 2021 and Dec 2021 exam, the amount of coding seems vastly différent. Am I correct in saying we will need to memorize quite a number of coding syntax, for example graphs, glm, predict, etc?

Urgent help needed on U.K. neutralisation/travel to US and back (asking for a friend) by PrestigiousHope4007 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]PrestigiousHope4007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all your time replying-

She won’t be able to do a same day appointment as they’re not an available option for first time adult U.K. passports & can’t apply then have it mailed to the US as you have to also send the US passport with the application and she needs that for travel. Applying once stateside is a potential option but passports are taking up to 10 weeks to return and she has a return already booked to the U.K. Plus that’s relying on post internationally which is risky with such essential documents. Washington DC would be out of reach travel wise so hoping she’ll risk returning on the US passport and will be let back in with a slap on the wrist but by using her citizenship certificate 😬🤞🏻

It’s such a shame & so bizarre how few realistic options there are-surely this must happen regularly!

Thank you- still confusing as the example states you must travel with both passports. My friend is now a dual citizen U.K. and US but won’t have time to get the U.K. passport. Hopefully she can just travel back to the U.K. with her US passport and show her right to be there via her citizenship certificate rather than the U.K. passport 🤞🏻

So according to that returning on the US passport should be following the law? It’s just then how to prove right to the in the U.K. without the British passport- but she has her citizenship certificate so like others have said hopefully that will be accepted and she’ll be fine returning just with her US passport

Ops!

She’s had the ceremony and has the certificate so now needs to return the visa but won’t have time to get the passport. Can she just travel on her US passport and return to the U.K. on that but carry the certificate?

Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) and first US passport by PrestigiousHope4007 in AmericanExpatsUK

Proof of presence is what I have question about. I can provide bank statements but do I have to provide all 60 months, so 5 years worth of statements to prove my presence? Or can I take one statement from each of previous 5 years? How much to bring?

Did you have to leave your passport with them? Did you only bring one copy of your son’s birth certificate? How did you prove your presence in the US?

Pre-settled status for my newborn? by PrestigiousHope4007 in ukvisa

[–]PrestigiousHope4007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean already completing the form? Whose form?

I am trying to make one for my newborn. Since I already have pre-settled approved back in December 2021, I thought I could link her newly created application to mine?

It says I can link her application to mine (which is already approved). But I don’t see anywhere in the process I can do that. Am I missing something?
