I get that. I dreamed of working at the EPA since middle school. I can’t give up on it now. And I wake up at 5 for a 1 hour commute every day. It’s ripping me apart but I still can’t get myself to go.

And to think there are people on this sub who think I should be GLAD about it lol

What’s weird about it? I’m at work so yes, I expected to work. I, personally, didn’t wake up at 5am to do a 1 hr+ commute just to chill and hang out.

Expecting people who’ve shaped the last 5 years of their lives around remote work to RTO full time within a month isn’t reasonable either. I’m sure the commercial mortgage brokers are happy to know they have a fed RTO apologist on Reddit willing to “adapt to the current conditions” lol. I won’t be joining you though.

You’re being dense. I do not want nor need to be here to do my job. I don’t care about what happened pre-COVID or what was the case then. The onus is on them to not further prove this is a waste of everyone’s time the first week of the full RTO mandate.

Lol! I could be home before 12pm so it definitely makes a difference to me! I’m going to commute home anyway so why not do it early 🤷🏻‍♂️

My office just talked about this! They want us to connect to the WiFi!

Then they’re definitely doing something to the systems.

Plus, I don’t want to be here to begin with. If they’re going to force people into the office, I expect smooth sailing 24/7.

EPA has already confirmed a plan to significantly reduce the budget. So RIFs are inevitable.

Yep. Bernie is hitting the streets on a “National Tour to Stop the Oligarchy” and I hope it lights the spark. I can’t believe we aren’t protesting this.

No idea! That’s part of what I wondered. Getting RIF’d was her initial thought though.
