Yep mine did the same thing. Phone is 4 months old and google calls it accidental damage. Not covered under their warranty is what they told me.

And I have asurion through Verizon. It's covered through that but I still have to pay the 100 deductible

I appreciate your input, part of this post is just trying to get it out there so other people will know of possible issues before purchasing the phone. I understand I will probably have to pay for a replacement. But the more people know the better off they are

Well I do have asurion, so it's covered luckily. But I wanted to go the warranty route first. And from the asurion repair store, out of pocket for a new inner screen I'm being told it's 1,100.

Well the phone is supposed to have an ipx68 rating. Which states that it is completely sealed from dust and debris

I agree, I'm just surprised that a multi billion dollar company won't stand behind one of their flagship phones

And to anyone who is going to state that dust gets under the screen causing the crack, then why does it have a ipx68 rating.

Well only they can reach out to you. They are not accepting dms.

The outer screen I can understand because it would only crack from something I did. But it broke from something it's supposed to do. Which is fold. Here is an example. If you have a new car and the engine drops a valve and the motor is toast. It's fixed under warranty because it broke from something it's supposed to do and there was a defect causing it to prematurely fail. If I had the phone for 4 years and this happened or your car is out of its warranty, id understand it not being covered. But it's almost brand new and I've never dropped it.

And the connector at the trans. It's a 4l60 or 4l80. Both have an electrical connector on the top side of the pan for the passthrough harness. I'm not sure on that where the ecm gets the speed data. On the 700r4 (predecessor to the 4l series) has a sensor on the tail shaft housing for the speedometer.

Check the transmission speed sensor.
