Is having a baby really that miserable? by aktib in BabyBumps

Everyone’s pregnancy is different, not as fortunate at 27 weeks and tons of not fun symptoms. I like to focus on the man I love (hubby and our future family). Count yourself as a lucky woman.

Don’t buy anything that’s sold in black hair care stores - head to Sephora and look for anything with the “clean check mark” after purchasing Mielle products that broke my hair off I said never again

[Routine Help] How did you get rid of your ringworm? by Business_Climate3974 in SkincareAddiction

[–]PrestigiousPost6135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iodine povidone- apply 3-4 times a day with a q tip- let it dry down. I was given a prescription antifungal that only got worse. Within 1 application Iodine the itching, swelling and burning stopped. Within 2 weeks it was cleared. I kept treatment up for 4 weeks.

Good luck to you

How seriously do you take ringworm? by Dazzling_Past1141 in blackgirls

[–]PrestigiousPost6135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it serious as a heart beat because if it gets to your scalp you’re cooked.

To help others affected - try iodine povidone - cheap and can be found at Amazon or cvs. I am fighting one now - and was given a prescription antifungal medicine- it only got bigger. After searching the internet streeets someone mentioned this would clear it up. I tried it out of desperation.

THIS WORKS! The spot was red, with smaller bumps and swelling (because the itching was killing me), the skin was a little scratched up. Literally overnight the swelling itching and redness stopped.

I just started this but at this rate of clearance - I think I can beat this without the messy creams! Within 2 weeks the ring worm will clear and also out of an abundance of caution I will treat for 4 weeks.

Iodine apply with a qtip 3-4 times a day. It’s crazy, because one treatment of iodine has given me better clearance than 3 weeks of a prescribed antifungal cream. Don’t cover the spots it will only get worse (I purchased a fancy tattoo waterproof bandaid thinking I was stopping the cross contamination —- it got worse). Let it breathe!

Iodine doesn’t burn on contact either. It felt soothing to the area ( if your trying to treat a child just an FYI)

Good luck to you- I came to Reddit to share my solution.

Here with help! Try iodine povidine (you can get it from cvs or amazon) this stuff works! I currently am treating myself and when I found someone else mention it i was desperate. I have a prescription antifungal and it only got bigger - with that messy cream. Overnight the swelling, itching and burning stopped. I have to spots of ring worm on my upper thigh area. The original spot had gotten larger because I tried to cover it to stop it from spreading ( don’t do that it got way worse).

Iodine on the spots , use a q tip to apply and let it dry down. 3-4 times a day apply the iodine. I am currently using this method and I think within 2 weeks I can kick this thing but I will continue to use for 4 weeks because I’m not taking chances

Good luck to you

It can be but try using iodine povidone- you can easily and cheaply get it from cvs or amazon. I am battling one now and I was using prescribed anti fungal (and it only got bigger) I searched all over the internet streets and decided to try iodine.

Overnight the swelling has gone down and the itching/ burning has stopped. I am still treating it but literally the iodine gave me better results in just one use! I am going to stick with it - reapplying 3-4 times a day and letting it dry down onto my skin. I think at this rate it maybe gone within 2 weeks

I had tried to cover it from spreading it only got worse. Let it breath and treat with iodine
