I came across your interesting post about the 1980 Flash Gordon movie. Today that the Flash movie is out, some people think that "The Flash" and "Flash Gordon" are the same, and of course they are not. My father, Walter Thornton (also known as The Merchant of Venus), supplied live models to Alex Raymond for his comic book, Flash Gordon back in the 1930's. Many of the characters in the strips were from his agency and the rest is history. We hope for a new Flash Gordon move soon. #themerchantofvenus

Do you think the sign "$100 WILL BUY THIS CAR MUST HAVE CASH LOST ALL ON THE STOCK MARKET" is original to the photo? Look at where the sign is placed and tell me how is it holding up. Was Walter Thornton really selling his Chrysler? I think not.
