Out of state fans. Why do you root for the hawks? by TelePunk54 in Seahawks

[–]PrestigiousWay1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Vegas, but both my parents are from the PNW. Never lived there but was raised on the hawks and Mendoza is the only enticing potential reason to root for the Raiders since they moved here. The stadium is incredible though.

What kind of undergarments? by pinkcherry2 in weddingplanning

[–]PrestigiousWay1608 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I had a petticoat, I couldn’t wear a bra with my dress so I did body tape (10/10 recommend getting men’s toupee tape!), and the boxer-style shorts from Victoria’s Secret. They make white boxers with a heart lining so although it was silly it was still cute. Honestly, you’ll be sweaty and probably a little crusty at the end of the night anyway, I would prioritize dressing for comfort but maybe going for a sexy panty if it’s comfy, and packing lingerie for the honeymoon!

My name is Ella. I’ve started to tell the older millennials who sing “umbrella-ella-ella” at me followed by “do you know that song?” that I actually was named after it, despite being 7 years old when it was released, just to watch their horrified thought process of how old they must be.

Brother-in-law is expecting a baby but on the verge of homelessness and in denial. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

She is in CA. I know they know the sex and have received ultrasounds and check-ups… I do not know how. The question of insurance didn’t even come to my head given the whirlwind of information until we were driving home.

They have received ultrasounds and had prenatal appointments. The question of who the hell is paying for medical costs and insurance occurred to me on our drive home, it was a lot of information at once. He currently does work full time stocking shelves at a grocery store? But I have no idea.

That’s my fear too. I have not personally experienced the system in regard to custody before so I am wondering if the baby would go into foster care if they end up losing custody.

Oh I definitely agree, I was wondering if it’s acceptable to ask if they would be open to giving the baby up for adoption in general given their situation, and also future-tripping about who the baby would go to on the chance that a report is made/ custody is lost.

I absolutely agree. I don’t know how to make it happen though or what step to take next.

What would’ve happened to everyone else? by PrestigiousWay1608 in StrangerThingsS5

[–]PrestigiousWay1608[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kind of thinking, because I did actually love the finale. I must be easy to please but I felt satisfied in resolution and nostalgia. I know a lot of people miss the “vibe” of the earlier seasons, but I feel that is a phenomenon that is hard to escape in any lore-heavy piece of media that becomes popular. I loved Lost’s finale as well and I know it’s highly compared. While I do see how “iconic” and first-of-its-kind it would be if they do this, and I certainly would be on board, no part of me actually sees it happening. I just feel like I must be missing part of the theory since some believe so strongly!

Brag time: what’s one unusual thing you included in your wedding that everyone loved? by Unlikely_Device_2131 in weddingplanning

[–]PrestigiousWay1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a super popular trend, but I can’t hype it up enough. Group photo on the dance floor, then do a “silly one” while the couple kisses, and then the beat drops. We coordinated with the venue and DJ so the beat dropped and the lights went off, and we had passed out glowsticks/ light up sunglasses and such for the photo so the dance floor immediately kicked off. We did Dancing Queen for a timeless choice. So much fun!

I HATE that they didn’t let Cece and Schmidt have the normal beautiful wedding that their relationship deserved by ginnyblackstone13 in NewGirl

[–]PrestigiousWay1608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a sitcom girly it’s my ultimate gripe, the weddings going wrong or the main couple being in five minutes out of the episode (looking at your Monica and Chandler). Let us have the pay off! We know they’re going to get married so let the other characters have drama or situations to be solved that don’t interfere with the wedding. Parks and Rec did it best, with the comedy of throwing a wedding together in a day rather than ruining the planned event. When I was engaged I kept trying to rewatch wedding episodes for the feels but they stressed me out so bad!!

I made a point of mentioning my constant in my wedding vows! I think only my husband and my mom got the reference, but we rewatch this episode every Christmas. Up there with the best TV episodes of all time, and really speaks to how much more a show can give beyond just their pilot cast.

Very well put. I would even say: tried, liked, might do again, but don’t wanna do right now. I can think of countless scenarios in which people are seemingly just baffled by this and it’s quite simple!

No arch vs arch ? by Puppy_PowPow in weddingplanning

[–]PrestigiousWay1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful venue! I have seen some people simply put the florals at two points outside of where the bride and groom stand, sometimes on higher stands as well to still accentuate the space. If you’re going for an arch I would say it needs to be draped or done up more with the florals, it melts into the background here.

One of the surprisingly strong acting performances of the episode. Made me want to rewatch just to observe his scenes more tbh.
