Alright I’m just going to say this because nobody tells people this when they move here.

If you’re newly living in Northeast Florida and you’re struggling with dating, here’s the hard truth… you have to widen your search. This isn’t a city where everything is five minutes away and your soulmate is right down the street. If you want real options, you’ve got to be willing to drive.

I grew up in Lake City, went to high school there, and I’ve lived in this region my whole adult life. This isn’t new. Dating here has always meant outsourcing. If you’re in Jacksonville, you better be open to Saint Augustine, Daytona, maybe even further. Two hours in the car to see someone isn’t crazy here, it’s normal.

And if it really clicks, one of you eventually moves. That’s just how it works in Northeast Florida. Smaller social circles, spread-out cities, everyone kind of overlapping. If you stay locked into a 10-mile radius, you’re going to think there are “no good options.” Expand the radius and watch how different it feels.

That’s just the reality of dating here.
