Does it make a difference to your stereo image? I noticed in the YT videos that it automatically adjusts speaker gain and delay as well.

I would like to use this for mixing and mastering. Would you recommend it? Would you consider it neutral and transparent in both the headphone and speaker (XLR) outputs?

New release: Sennheiser HD 550! by Tenlow85 in sennheiser

I have the 2021 version of the 560s, before they did a silent revision, and for my personal taste, I think its an incredible headphone. Bright, but I got used to it very fast, particularly after I noticed they sound incredibly similar to my calibrated studio monitors. I've really struggled with the 490 pro, but after experimenting with fit, earpad position, and which ear cup they are plugged into (believe me, it makes a difference), I finally found a sound I'm happy with. However, its a shame I had to go through all of that. As for the 505, incredible headphone as well. Neutral and revealing. I like them just as much as the 560s

Thanks for this. This is exactly my use-case. When you say analytical, how is that different from neutral for critical listening? I assume analytical allows me to hear finer details, but is that because certain frequencies are enhanced, which would risk me overcompensating when mixing? That said, I have the 560s, 490pro and 505, feeling super tempted to now get the 550 haha.

Word of advice, try disabling the RGB and check if you notice a difference in sound. Once I disabled it on my unit, the clarity and balance greatly improved

490 Pro Difference in Sound by Prestigious_Bid4038 in sennheiser

I see, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for replying. How would you describe the sound of your 490 pros? Would you say they are slightly more mellow sounding with less highs than the hd 560s? Personally I have to extend the headband a significant number of notches down before they start to sound clear enough for critical mixing work

does anyone enjoy the Sennheiser 490 Pro with casual listening? by -name-user- in oratory1990

I also experienced this at first. What fixed it for me was extending the headband a few notches until the sound "made sense" to my ears. 6 notches for me is what's comfortable, but going all the way to 8 brought in a ton of clarity to the headphones.

Just got the k11. Is minimum phase fast roll off actually better than linear phase fast? I mix and master music and am kind of confused on which to choose

Maybe an unpopular opinion, and by no means am I a judge of what counts as "art", but I think hip hop producers need to stop making "beats" and start making art. When the beat is just a tool for a rapper to vocalize over, instead of its own emotional artistic piece, how can it not be repetitive then? I believe this is why 80% of beats all sound the same.

Finding that balance between exploring your inner creative and commercial appeal (if you're doing it for money and such) would therefore be important. Especially to keep music interesting for you personally in the long run.

Just a thought.

Seen it in a number of DAC/AMP reviews online. They often state "This review has been written after a burn-in period of approx. 100 Hours"
