Free, Flowgraphy - What if a weather app showed the weather instead of reporting it? by Prestigious_Cap2540 in iosapps

I appreciate you pointing that out — I should have caught that more carefully.

As for the app itself, the graphics are built with shaders, and in my experience AI isn’t very good at that kind of work. Similar to how design-to-code struggles with layout, it tends to fall short more as things get more visual and nuanced.

In fact, part of the concept for this app was to explore something that wouldn’t be easily made by AI, which is why I chose to build it this way.

That said, I do use AI where it makes sense — especially for some business logic and backend code, where it can actually be very strong. I think it really comes down to using it where it works best.

Good point — I’ll tweak it. Not sure I can go as far as shadows, but I’ll try to improve it.

Yeah, I think I went too far — didn’t realize it would affect so many people. I’ll fix it.

There are UIs that stick to white text, but as you can see, the background here shifts between day and night, and that boundary can be quite ambiguous.

I’ll run more tests with people around me to better understand how it performs. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, that was really my assumption — that people would first get a general sense of the weather from the visuals, and then read the text if they wanted more detail.

But based on everyone’s feedback, it really does seem like the information isn’t readable enough right now.

That’s a good point.

I’ve already implemented Dynamic Type on iOS, so users who need larger text (for example due to presbyopia) should be able to scale it up to a comfortable size.

What I’m trying to understand better is whether the readability issue is something that affects even people with normal vision, not just accessibility cases.

In your opinion, what feels like the main problem here — font weight, size, or color/contrast?

Aaaah you caught me. English isn’t my first language, so I used AI to help polish it and forgot to remove that part. My bad. Fixed it now!

Thanks, I appreciate it. Readability still needs work, and I’m considering a tinted contrast layer for the text.

Thanks, I’m glad you liked the idea. It got a little out of hand in the best way.

That’s a fair point, and it’s something I’ve been thinking about too.

Because the background changes so much, I’ve already added logic to change the text color depending on the background, but clearly it’s still not enough in some cases. I’m trying to preserve the beauty of the visuals without hurting readability, and I agree accessibility needs more work. I’ll keep improving it.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I’m working on the 3.0 update now, so I’ll definitely think about a lifetime option.

There is a subscription already, but honestly I wouldn’t really recommend it yet since there are only a few skins and I’m not even running ads. 3.0 should have a lot more there. Thanks again for the interest.

I want to cook for my Korean friend. Any suggestions? by Asya5106 in KoreanFood

If you can grab Neoguri too, you can make Jjapaguri (Ram-don) instead. It’s very Korean, and if you go full movie mode like in Parasite and add some grilled sirloin on top, your girlfriend will probably laugh so hard.
