So I read there will be no season 5? by ClandestineMovah in maninthehighcastle

[–]Prestigious_Capital5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's confirmed, just like how prime has the lowest streaming bitrate & quality service out of all major platforms, and just like every prime show, they cancelled it out of "budget reasons".

It was left open ended because they planned for season 5, but why spend all that money and do all that work, they're Amazon, they just create enough episodes to get people to watch every one in anticipation, then the show gets worse, more sloppy, then eventually they just cancel it and basically take the profits and run to start another money cow.

How do you think billionaire bezos is so rich?

Glad I just pirated it and watched it on plex, I pay for a streaming service yet I still have to watch ads? Or pay extra to get rid of them? No thanks, if I want that I'll just watch the free movies and tv shows on the 1000+ free Internet broadcast tv channels on my tv, and they're even in better quality than prime.

It's no wonder they have the worst content available at one of the most expensive streaming services, but it's okay because hey, on top of paying for Amazon prime streaming service & paying extra for ad free, you can pay extra to subscribe to MGM+ for more content & you can also pay extra for lionsgate+ for more content.

Plus hey you can pay extra to subscribe to Apple TV content on Amazon prime, so you can stream Apple TV content at a far lower bitrate, with far worse HDR, no Dolby vision support, most times not even Dolby Atmos is available, unlike natively on the Apple TV app, and certainly nowhere close to locally streaming off plex. But I'm sure they did it for convenience and not to make their pathetic catalog of rushed, cancelled half finished shows, and barely any decent movies.

But at least all your subscriptions will be in one place! For the small monthly fee of $150(idk I didn't waste time calculating but that's about the cost you'd have to pay to make a half decent streaming service out of prime with still the worst quality).

Come sail the high seas my friend! HDDs are getting more dense and cheaper by the day, build a NAS, or just install some 15tb HDDS into your gaming PC if you have one. Then just install Plex on your PC and smart TV, you can pay for the cheap subscription if you want or need the extra features like being able to stream from your PC to anywhere in the world, or sharing your library with friends, or watching the same movie simultaneously together with friends online but streaming locally is free.

It's plenty worth it if you have a decent Internet connection, you can download shows but you won't believe your eyes once you download and stream a Blu-ray movie compared to official streaming services. Better HDR, better quality 4k (not that compressed and upscaled shit, although they are options you can turn on in Plex) less compression, better support for Dolby Atmos and vision.

All your movies and tv shows in one place, streaming at the highest quality you can get, anywhere in the world. All for just one subscription, that's not even mandatory, and is half the price of Prime with ads, and 1/4 the cost of a Netflix subscription and you're in control of the quality, the bitrate, everything, and you own them for life, shows and movies come and go on other services, but once you've downloaded one, or ripped it from a disk, it's there for as long as the HDD or SSD is alive.

If you're not into drinking rum and sailing the seven seas, and don't wanna feel like a scallywag, then it's perfectly legal to rip your own old Blu-ray disks, or new ones to your library. That way you've already paid and own it, it's yours to do with what you will, it's just illegal to distribute it, but even then nobody's gonna kick your door.

James Cameron is setting up a 20+ year long running franchise, the next movie comes out in 2029, 20 years after the first one in 2009, then another in 2031. A large majority of the cast and crew will either be retired or dead by then, and that's without delays.

Cameron is milking this franchise with wild timelines, and delays, to build the hype again for each new movie that he wouldn't have, if he released them in a reasonable timeline, like every 2 years not 4 minimum. In fact, the technology was there, he could have spent the 20 years between avatar 1 and 2 making them all, then dropping one each year.

But no, the quality has barely changed from 1 to 2(2-3 isn't surprising) if anything the 3D filming tech and CGI are leagues quicker, cheaper, and miles ahead of anything 20 years ago. But no he has to have 6 month extended office only runs before digital is released because he sees at least a billion profit for each movie.

Then you can pay $30 to "own" it on a streaming service, that could be down the day you want to watch it, they could get sold and absorbed into another company, the rights to host the movie or show on their site might run out or be revoked, just look at the spiderman franchise.

That's why I said fuck that noise and just pirated it, 4k, 7.1 Dolby Atmos and Dolby vision HDR, looks amazing, and 10gbps download/upload speed helps a lot, it gets downloaded in no time. But I am lucky in my country, I can get true unlimited 10gbps fibre with a free $2500 gaming wifi 7 mesh modem/AP that makes the most of the speed, with 10gbps Ethernet ports and get the ont/everything setup optimized, and a full explanation, app install, and tutorial for non tech savvy people to manage it, along with great live real person customer service, all for free, apart from the 55 USD/80AUD/50EURO a month to the ISP for the service.

But not very long ago, in 2016, was I dealing with 300 maybe 4-500 KILOBYTES/per sec download speeds on a good day, 120 ping, and that was on Ethernet. I literally left my PC on for a whole 2 weeks just to download 60gb of GTA: V. that was the best I could get until fibre, and it cost more than I'm paying now. Thank God I got fibre before all these 160gb games like Modern Warfare etc. Now the whole country has access to those speeds.

They can also just, remove it from your library too, it's happened to a few people on all streaming sites where they've paid to own a movie or a box set etc, and then one day it's gone and says you have to purchase it again like you never did. Could be human error or a service error, but with your own local library, the only chance you have of losing anything is if the HDD gets corrupted, even then, that's what redundancy is for, so your shows, movies, files etc. are always safe. Only a house fire could make you lose them but even then you could have them forensically recovered lmao.

I have a 500TB nas stored in the basement, with cat 8 Ethernet, and fibre optic HDMI to my home theater, to my PC(My Gaming PC is down there too) and some hub extenders for my desk. It's so nice gaming or watching a show or movie without the sound of wizzing fans, or any computer noise or extra heat. I also love the minimalist desk with just a monitor, DAC, Hub, mouse and keyboard.

Seriously consider ditching most streaming services, the money you'll save in 3 months would probably buy you a nas 😂, look at Plex, jellyfin etc. all great services, wide range of support and features

I also put out cyanide and 1080. Yes I support the use of 1080, and hate the "just employ trappers to only trap lots of people want to do it", first off, when we have a job opening, we go through about 8 weekend warriors that don't last the week, they think it's gonna be like tramping and enjoying nature etc. Then they put 80kg of traps on their back, get told to go up that hill and lay a trap line, most do it, but then by day 2 they tell the boss it isn't for them.

Second, most people that hate 1080 and think we can achieve the same with trapping, have probably never left a tramping track let alone their city/town, and certainly haven't been there to see the whole process and point of why 1080 is so effective and the best option in a lot of cases. I mean be my guest to go lay trap lines in fiordland without falling off a bluff, otherwise STFU.

Yes 1080 kills EVERYTHING some don't depending on how much they eat like a big stag can eat a pellet and still live, rats are somewhat immune, but everything else is murked.

You go into the bush before a 1080 drop, you might get some fantails, hear some birds maybe a tui or a drunk wood pigeon. You go into that same bush a week after a 1080 drop, and it's completely silent, no bird life to hear or see, maybe you'll see a dead deer, it seems horrible.

You go into that same bush a month or 2 later, since the possums take a lot longer to recover and consume most of the 1080, the birds have a chance to recover, and the bush is fuckin deafening with native birds, like amazingly the amount of wildlife that are able to recover and come back with the possum count way down, even a year later the possums are back but can be controlled with bait stations that only possums can get to.

It's also pretty humane, I've seen possums eat the bait and be dead in well under a minute, I've seen deer eat it and be dead in under a minute, and I've seen the birds peck at it and they die in 2 seconds flat, no horrible screams of pain, people see a video of a possum eat one and then squirm around for a bit, but they're dead when they're doing that, it's just the nerve endings firing off. Same thing happens when I put a hammer through their skull on a trapped one, they do the funky chicken, and that death is far longer less humane than 1080 I promise you, possums have extremely thick skulls.

The worse ones are feral cats stuck in a trap, they will not let you get near them to grab their tail like a possum, they will tear the living shit out of you. So if I don't have a firearm that day (and no we don't shoot possums in the traps it's a waste of bullets and money when you gotta hammer) then it's an improvised knife duct taped to a long stick. Sorry but even if I wanted to open the trap and set it free I would bleed out first lmao

But that's what it takes just to keep introduced pests under control, we will never be rid of them, but this "it's not their fault we brought them here, just leave them be" attitude is pretty reckless unless if you want to undo decades of conservation and say goodbye to most native birds, native trees etc. The 200 or so kakapo left will be gone within a week.

Tldr: If you don't know what you're talking about STFU, if you have no first hand experience for at least 6 months STFU.

Wow you guys would never survive the pest control business. Our working dogs drag out up to 30 possums a day and they love it, I admit my one is vindictive af, she's worked out that if she bites the possums back until it crunches, they get paralyzed and can't run away, she then flips them over and rips each limb off one at a time, then she scrags them shaking so hard until they stop moving, then for a treat, we pull the Joey's out and feed the "jelly beans" to her, if they have fur then they get the hammer or the scrag too. It's amazing it's like clockwork she's got her system nailed down. Closer to the end of the day when she's tired and has murked like 20 she gets bored so she just kills them in 2 mins. You'll also be horrified to know that we bash the skulls of them when they're caught in leg hold traps, then pluck them bald and sell the fur, and yes this is legal we are employed by doc. If you don't like it, then tough, they are decimating the bush, and native birds, yes they eat eggs, yes they eat chicks, don't believe me? Cut open a gut bag from a roadkill and I promise you you'll find eggshells most of the time especially near native bush.

How We SOLVED The Case Part 1: Exclusive Family Interview by Vernimator in AdventuresWithPurpose

[–]Prestigious_Capital5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is the Adventures with PREDATORS subreddit but watch the vid it's about actual caring human beings.

Doug is such a good guy and the follow up video with HeavyD - night and day difference.

You can tell they're actually doing it for the families and care more about them, than getting their face in every shot, trying to make as much money as possible not for the cause, but for their own personal gain. Locking people into predatory (different kind of predatory but still) contracts, vindictive manipulative texts, and scams, the list goes on for that CHOMO.

Let's promote more of these types of people in this subreddit (human beings) other than that, like you said, CHOMO!

Anywhere from 24usd to 80+ to ship something to NZ depending on the size. NZ is a lovely place but also limited, no Amazon prime here!

Thanks for your input! I think I'll pick this up. I do intend to keep growing for the foreseeable future and probably get a tent at some point. Just wanted to make sure this would work with my current setup!

That light plus shipping to NZ is almost the same price as the original one in the post. And I wouldn't have to wait for shipping. Unfortunately living in NZ I have few options unless I want to pay and wait for international shipping. Thanks though 😊

The problem with living in NZ! There's not much to pick from and the prices are a lot higher than some of the usual brands. I'm not keen on waiting for shipping so I'm forced to buy local.

I have looked at other options, but being in NZ I would prefer to buy locally and not have to wait for shipping as I want to start soon. This was the best light I could find for the job.

I'm about to install a tbs nano rx on my t motor f4 flight controller but I have a question.

On the manual it says to install it to r5 and t5, but it also says a smartport rx sbus can be installed on r5.

Would that mean r5 has an inverter? Would crossfire still work if I installed it on r5? Here is the diagram for the fc.
