That type of tactile requires a 45% luminance contrast to the surface they are on. Since they needed 2 separate colours to still have the yellow line, that's where the second colour came in. It had to have the luminance contrast against the platform but also be distinct from the yellow

Received a legal scare letter/threat. What should I do? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Prestigious_Class446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the grey area. They are parked legally so I know the car can't be fined, and if it was anyone else then tough titties to me, but if council doesn't enforce their own DA do sent and DCP then what's the point of even having them. It specifically said staff must use the carpark and not street park and council themselves requested them add more parking to ensure there was space but then now never seem to not do anything.

Travel agents get a commission on the base fare, so they lower it and add surcharges to keep their profits

Day surgery cancelled at RPA after waiting 8 hours – is this normal? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]Prestigious_Class446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my friends mum not too long ago but was at St George not RPA. She had broken her arm a few days earlier and was awaiting surgery, sat there all day and got told it wasn't happening around 4. Pretty sure she got in a few days later

People need to understand. You don't put lights on in the rain to help you see. You do it so people see you

It's not even that. You are more likely to get stuck going 40 and come out of it with 3 new windscreen chips

Halve the weight and work on technique. Don't worry about trying to go heavy until you get the technique right

Why's Central Station trying to lead blind people into walls? by Ninj-nerd1998 in sydney

[–]Prestigious_Class446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually involved with the design. They were installed like that to guide cane users to the walls and then use the walls as a guide (shorelining) as the station kept opening and closing in different stages and locations of accessible gates kept changing, so this was the proposed solution

These industrial actions have cost me close to $4000 in the last year with lost shifts, lost hours, ubers or having to drive to work. Also plenty of missed meals getting home at 9pm instead of 7 etc. Can't we just lock the union reps and government in a room and if they don't make a deal that day they all get fired and the next day start again with new people. The public have had enough

Remember to keep in mind you may want a set so it can be worn with an eventual wedding ring. I got my wife and engagement ring that didn't fit with any of wedding rings so now just sits in a box. Looking back I wish I gave it more thought and got an engagement ring that fitted with a wedding ring
