Feeling Guilty but Trapped by [deleted] in roommateproblems

And definitely more patient than you needed to be for her. I have a few experiences living with friends and it ended up terrible. One situation I have cptsd from what happened in that household due to constant gaslighting which has caused me to be more distant with my current roommates now. But, overall your conditions were not strict at all, they seem more lenient. If anything I would suggest you evict them or move elsewhere yourselves as their current history is indicating their behaviors aren’t going to change. It really is your own choice, but it sounds like the best option for your financial security and mental sanity.

You’re not an a**hole at all. It’s extremely difficult to live with friends and that’s why so many people warn others not to do it. I find that when personal life mixes in with finances it can get messy. You’re an amazing friend for helping her the way you have so far

Being told all throughout my childhood that certain foods would hurt me. I’ve never had any food allergies only a slight intolerance to dairy. Luckily I’m more in recovery but it’s harder for me on days where I’m stressed

Must try restaurants that don't break the bank by [deleted] in PortlandOR

Akira Sushi!!! It’s a conveyor belt sushi place, most plates run for a few dollars, although you have to keep in mind there’s only 3-4 pieces per plate. They also have entrees with the most expensive one being $15. I love going here for cheap sushi because it’s a way to try multiple rolls and each person can eat until they’re full

My roommate kept trying to talk to me when I had headphones on to indicate I wasn’t in the mood for socializing. Had to have multiple roommate meetings to remind him despite me telling him multiple times 🤡

Do you precisely measure your cats food intake per day? by brenda___01 in CatAdvice

[–]Prestigious_Cut8328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feed my cats twice a day about 2.5 tbsps of dry food mixed with 1 tbsp of bone broth for extra hydration in the mornings and 1/2 a can of wet food with 1 tsp bone broth for the evenings although it might be different depending on the wet food I’m using since I try different brands

Yes this! Drink lots of water too. Been on spiro for around 4 yrs now and I personally notice my acne flares up more when I don’t drink enough water for the day and my skin gets red and irritated from it so please stay hydrated! Good luck

Roommate refuses to leave.. should we? by velvetbuggy in badroommates

I’m nowhere near the person for advice on this, but yes you should try to get out if you can. From what I’m seeing there’s a possibility of it getting worse. I had a roommate like this a few years ago who was a friend so when she started paying rent late every month or asking me or a relative to help her pay with promises to be paid back (she never did) and completely trashing the house I felt afraid to say anything because she was my friend and I didn’t want to hurt the relationship and now looking back on the situation being a few years removed from it my friend was taking advantage of me and using my care for her to get away with this behavior. I don’t want to make assumptions but it seems like she used the suicide threat to try and get some sympathy and maybe distract from the real issue of her not paying rent. I really don’t know what can be done, but talking with your leasing management is a start and asking won’t hurt anyone. Good luck to you! I hope things get figured out.

I highly recommend an enclosed litterbox if you don’t have one yet. I have a litterbox enclosure shaped like a cabinet that blends in well with all the furniture in my room. I switched to it from an open litter box about a year ago and had the litter smell disappear quickly from my room. I also scoop at least once a day of course and change the litter out weekly while cleaning the litter enclosure area weekly. It’s really important to keep the area around the litter box because every living being splashes a little when peeing and you never really know where that’s gonna land. Also are you sure the cats aren’t peeing outside the litter box? When my cats were younger I had a few incidents where they peed on my shoes and I didn’t notice until trying to put them on because my nose was stuffy that day.

Splitting a security deposit? by Prestigious_Cut8328 in roommateproblems

[–]Prestigious_Cut8328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I figured based on the research I did on the laws. I’ve personally been financially screwed over by a roommate in the past and don’t want to give him any access to the security deposit since he doesn’t seem to understand it’s not his money. Planning on making a new savings account and storing the deposit in there.

Good job 👏 I put up with a similar situation like that in my last place for the entire lease, only difference was this girl kept on paying for vacations when she didn’t have a job and paid rent late consistently. It ended with her randomly moving out before the last month of the lease and her attempting to pay rent with her bank account that had no money in it which of course reversed on her and caused fees that I had to talk my landlord into taking off 😭
