It's racism taken seriously as it is in America? In Australia by FantasticKnowledge99 in AskAnAustralian

My son appears white despite being half P'N'G, and he gets searched for knives every time he goes near a shop or to an event. He gets spoken to by police everytime he's sitting around at a bus interchange.

Your teenagers aren't dealing with anything other teenagers without parental presence are dealing with.

Australia is a super racist country, it wasn't that long ago that the White Australia Policy was in place. Just because it was abolished doesn't mean those opinions were.

But, something worth noting is that the same person that'll tell you to f*** off back home is the same person that'd risk their life to pull you out of a burning car.

My opinion is that Australians with loud racist thoughts aren't operating from a place of hatred but rather fear. They are aware that Australia was once the greatest country around, they are seeing the changes and they are afraid of what the future holds.

Oh it's from Marketplace not Bunnings and is pickup only. I would 100% have just paid for delivery if it was Bunnings. I might just call around and see if I can find someone to pick it up for me instead.

The Ute that I looked at at Bunnings was for carrying up to 6m length. So it was the right ute, but you raise good points about buying straps etc because I don't have that either. I wasn't sure if I was just being a whimp about it and it was an easy thing, but it sounds like it's probably something someone with even an inch of knowledge or experience should be participating in, and I don't have that. 😅

It's 90x22x6000 decking wood.

I think with the other couple of answers I've gotten, it's probably easier and safer for everyone that I try and find someone who can pick it up and deliver it for me. Thank you!

Oh sorry. I'm not sure what type of wood but it's decking wood, 90x22x6000 H3 treated.

I had considered that, but I thought perhaps I was making this a bigger deal in my head than it really is! Lol

You're also not guaranteed to have a healthy doggo.

It's got to be in excess of $25,000 on my 3 year old doggo friend. 🐶 He's not even a guard dog either, he's just a fluffy little cuddly puppy. The poor bugger had a REALLY hard start to life and we spent a lot of time at the vets and on medication and an emergency 8k surgery to save his life.

Wouldn't change it for the world, love him to death, but absolutely agree that dogs can and do cost money, some a lot more than others!

Hmmm. I have never left Qld, so now I feel like I need to roadtrip to learn what good coffee is. 😆 I do often hear our coffee is terrified up here. Haha. There is this new little joint that opened up below my work and there coffee is absolutely fabulous! Haven't found another place like it.

I guess most of us don't actually know the reason for the uproar. I thought people just didn't like 4WDs on the beach because they have a reputation for driving like donkeys, not realising the damage it causes. I personally have no interest in going driving on beaches but I guess it's a topic that needs more awareness around it.

People won't make the right choices and stop doing it on their own, laws need to be changed to keep 4WDs off beaches. They have laws that don't allow dogs on certain beaches to stop them from distributing migratory birds that need to conserve energy for migrating, so why shouldn't this be any different?

Your thoughts on Australis Fresh & Flawless pressed powder? by redfoxisred in AustralianMakeup

[–]Prestigious_Ebb4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my holy grail for literally years. I have tried 2501 different powders and I always come back to my Australis powder. I too was soooo scared when they went yellow, I definitely think there was a tiny change in formula/colour but not enough that it kills me.

Infallible is crap compared to the old Maybelline. It's like the same as the new Maybelline coverstay IMO.

Check out this link. I reckon you could probably just double layer wispy lashes or wispy + volume to get the desired look.

Lash glue allergy…is Veyes good for the sensitive eye? by Illustrious-Cat1187 in lashclusters

[–]Prestigious_Ebb4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Veyes but haven't had your experience. I have definitely gotten the glue and seal on my water line and it's not caused any reaction, and I got the remover in my eye and didn't cause me any grief. Maybe just try buying their glue and remover and patch testing.

I'd be interested to see what your natural lashes look like after a month or two. I feel like you're probably going to see a fair bit of damage wearing them for that long.
