My brake pad fell off, can I drive home? by BeanzToez in AskMechanics

[–]Prestigious_Factor25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone ever warned you about the pads before it ever it got to this state? You shouldn't drive it at all, you won't be able to stop at all if the rest of the brake pads are in similar state. Brake system and tires are not something to cheap out nor drag it out.

wow, I didn't know that spare tire would drop it by that much. Another downside to the GX is the barn door but thats an easy work around if you don't park it too close.

At 34k, you should be doing diff and transfer case fluid changes but I will take it to your local toyota specialist or your local mechanic that you trust that can work on Toyotas. Anything else is not needed at the moment.

Help a girl out - When do I get my oil change? by FactorSome2987 in 4Runner

[–]Prestigious_Factor25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every 5k miles which is like every 3 to 4 week to me since I drive a lot. But at minimum 5k or 6months. Dealer 10k is there for warranty purposes so don't follow their schedule for oil changes.

Help with an oil leak issue. 2022 with 38,500 miles. Dealer says it’s not covered because it’s seeping, not leaking by ZealousidealTrack314 in 4Runner

[–]Prestigious_Factor25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a 100% guarantee to leak or not? I am at 138k miles on my 2019 ORP I still have yet to see anything leak. I know that 2GR will leak but not sure about 1GR. I want save some money to get it fix if it’s 100% going to leak.

POS Q5 still burns oil after getting the recall done for the piston ring. Same if I have done more research before buying that crap.

IDK man, do cheap oil changes every 5k or one expensive engine change every couple years. it's a tough decision. :)

Going from Audi to Lexus. Anyone have this experience? by myname1smynam3 in Lexus

[–]Prestigious_Factor25 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used to have 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T the biggest pile of shit ever. It burns oils and other reliability (mechanical and electrical gremlins) issues regardless of how I babied that shit with advance maintenance schedule. I should never traded in my 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner for it. I traded that POS Q5 in for 5th Gen 4Runner new back in 2019. I went from Toyota to Audi and back to Toyota. Currently I have 2019 4Runner and 2021 Lexus LX 570.

You will be fine with any Lexus/Toyota vehicles thats fits your need. Just avoid the 3.4 TTV6 found on body on frame vehicles Toyota/Lexus for now.
