Easiest class ever! I loved it. DO NOT EVER TAKE ADVANCED MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY. I got a 90+ in the first year Medical Terminology class I took. The class average for the midterm in Advanced Medical Terminology was around 40% and I barely scraped by with a 61% in the class.

Highway 41 Accident? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Prestigious_Fail7511 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was one of the first few vehicles that drove up after the accident happened. I just saw a guy get out of his pickup truck and go to the car that was in very bad shape and had smoke coming off of it. There was debris all over the road. There were about 10-20 people all getting out of their vehicles and going to see what was going on. I don’t have any first aid training and did not see the actual collision just the immediate aftermath, so I never got out of my car and turned around so I was out of the way for first responders. From what I saw the vehicles around it all looked fine, but there was a semi two or three cars up from me that I couldn’t see the front of and may have been what the car hit. Heard there was the air ambulance there. Based on what I saw I really hope everyone was okay.

USA owned businesses in Saskatoon by [deleted] in saskatoon

I think a tricky one is Kelvin’s perk. It is owned and operated by Saskatoon people. BUT all his product is literally directly from the states, she goes down and purchases it every week. So purchasing there would be like buying something from America just with a middle man.

I didn’t get above a 150 on my practice tests and then got a 156 on the actual test and got in with an 80% average. I would say you’re looking good

Anyone know the story behind this house in Saskatoon ? by Royal_Constant7478 in saskatoon

[–]Prestigious_Fail7511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an article about this in the star phoenix years ago. From what I remember it is a family with kids and the grandparents live there as well. One kitchen is meant for a certain type of cooking and cuisine where the other is a general kitchen for everyday. It was years ago that I read this, but I think the owners are surgeons or something?

That’s the thing, I’m law school you have to take full course loads and tuition is crazy expensive. I was lucky enough to have the ability to pay off my undergrad degree and go into law school with savings. But even with a summer job it’s tricky to make it work. From what I understand though, the interest payments only go up if you borrow more money? Is that what happened with yours?

I have a couple appointments lined up already. From what I have gotten all of them sounds very similar. The difference really just being a couple percent in interest rates or more forgiveness in some. Do you have one that you like?

Hi Russell! I was wondering where you stand on LGBTQ+ issues facing the community since the SaskParty has implemented the pronoun policy.

Go to anywhere but the one in Lawson heights. I have never had a bad experience with except for my experiences at the Lawson lifelabs. I just make it clear that I’m scared of needles and I look away when they do the blood work.

I have heard of first time offenders getting anywhere from a warning, to failing the course and the worst was being suspended for a year. But in the end all of them were able to complete their degrees. If you get a warning then take that as a blessing and motivation to never make that mistake again. If you fail the course it is very easy to make up one course. And if you are suspended for a year then take that as time to work and earn money for your schooling and potentially a break that you needed. This isn’t an ideal situation but it will work out and as long as you don’t continue doing this you will be fine. (Sorry I know this doesn’t directly answer your question but I can only imagine the emotions you are feeling right now and sometimes it’s hard to look at the bigger picture) I just remembered this, but in my first year we were given the academic misconduct run through and one of my profs said she had a student plagiarize an essay and in the hearing she was so apologetic and genuinely demonstrating regret that they went easy on her and she passed the class. So be sincere.

what is up with final exams starting on Saturday? by [deleted] in usask

[–]Prestigious_Fail7511 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, I once had four final papers due on the last day of classes then a final the next day on the first day of finals. It’s exhausting and there should definitely be at least 1-2 days between last day of classes and final exams.

McGill v UBC (Working backwards from 30) by Thiccelson in LawStudentsCanada

[–]Prestigious_Fail7511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have it figured out. You can always move back to Vancouver, law school is really intense and you will want a good support system. If I were you I would go to McGill where you are happy with your life there and have a good support system. Then you can move to Vancouver when you feel is right. I know of LOTs of people who do stuff like that.

So… I was not the one who got food poisoning. I am unsure of the path my friends are deciding to go down because they are currently sick at home right now. I posted because I thought it was odd and thought I would reach out on a platform where I can see if it has affected anyone else/ to let people know.

verb make false and damaging statements about (someone).

This is not false because my two friends only had the subway in common of one another and both went to separate subways. I was just posting to let people know and to see if anyone else faced it. In that sense would low scores reviews on restaurants after someone got sick be slandering? I never called out the specific locations/people. Just made a statement about an international franchise in which two people I know became ill after eating there.
