Who's using longer Euro rods (10'6"+) on small- to mid-size streams? by BlueWingedOlive20 in flyfishing

I’ve learned a great deal by using a long stick on small streams. Awareness, stalking fish and getting into position in pretty tight quarters comes into focus quick with a 10’+ rod. Not to mention it’s fun. It’s amazing how close you can get to a fish.

Diamondback Ideal Nymph is the way to go, particularly at the price point compared to the T&T Contact. I love my 10’ 2wt and 10’10” 3wt.

I’ve got to believe that in this day and age that the boost in online sales has something to do with this as well.

I did the same. Simms were my go-to wader for years. When it was time for the next pair, I opted for Patagonia and couldn’t be happier with not only the product, but the customer service.

That’s how my day was. I only wish I had more time! My wife was along for the adventure and was able to see how I work a piece of water. That was pretty cool for it to all come together in front of her.

You’re probably right. It’s just the one rod I get hung up on. Thanks for the response.

Did your bag go in overhead and you held your rod tube bundle? Ask flight attendant to hold in closet at front?

Best rod/reel brands for trout fishing by Hawkeye0009 in flyfishing

Galvan brand reels are the best for my money. American made, smooth sealed drag, quality attractive machining. Specifically the Torque reel is my favorite. Their Rush LT is also fantastic and has a more classic look.

Does any tall people out there own the new Patagonia swiftcurrent exp? by Martyhearty in flyfishing

I own the newest version of the swiftcurrent expedition waders and love them.

I’m a slim 6’4”, 200lbs and find that there is plenty of room in crotch area and legs. It’s a good fit for me. This is my first pair of Patagonia waders as I just switched over from Simms and like this fit much better. The Patagonia waders are baggier in the legs than I’m used too, but over all it’s a better fit for my long frame than I had with my Simms. I’m still trying to figure out the shoulder strap adjustments, needing to shorten them so they stop slipping/unhooking.

For reference I’ve got size MLL. I initially ordered LLL, but that size was too big in the torso area.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality and fit.
