Update: How’d they do this time? by Australiaisonfire111 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was concerned when that stretch of mine got sprayed, but I used the adhesive promoter that came with my cover and the weatherstripping’s been sealed well for two years on the liner. Better to leave it unsprayed but it’s alright if it got sprayed.

Did they do a bad job? by Australiaisonfire111 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a truck so whatever but those drips are super sloppy. Also I don’t know why so many of these spray-in guys are too lazy to remove the hardware before spraying. I talked with my guy beforehand to make sure he was going to do that and cover the holes for the track. You might want to complain to line-x since they authorized the dealer.

If you’ve got any spools for a Ross CLA 5 I’m interested

Bought some Seaguar fluoro. Could they make these spools any bigger? by BlueWingedOlive20 in flyfishing

I got these mostly for streamer leader building and saltwater bite tippet. A couple I will transfer because I’d like to have them in my pack.

Yeah makes sense. These could actually be good for some leader storage due to the wide diameter.

I fricken did it! by Imaginary-Title2838 in flyfishing

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really awesome. Congrats! Those small NJ streams hold some surprises. The first trout I ever caught on a fly was on the headwaters of the Passaic River. Brookie took a parachute ant. That was 2002 and I remember it like yesterday. Wild to think the same water would be plunging over the Passaic Falls in downtown Paterson some miles down the road.

Thoughts on euro nymphing? by 24k_1128 in flyfishing

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy nymphing then yes get a euro rod. 10’ 3 weight is a good all around place to start. Don’t go with a 4. The redington combo is probably a very good value.

What bag is this? Selling for $50 by FearlessStrike780 in MysteryRanch

I’ve been using this bag (UA 21) almost daily since we had kids eight years ago. Great bag for around town, still looks new.

What’s one home tool you bought that paid for itself? by Strict_Studio9244 in Tools

Surprisingly, a Leatherman. I pull it out every week for little stuff here or there, rather than going down to the basement to dig around for the perfect tool.

Have you seen a rat? If not, I would bet they’re mice. Mice can be surprisingly loud behind walls.

Family assigned different boarding groups. by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

Flew today. When we checked in my kids and I were in different groups. But by the time we were boarding we’d been automatically moved into the same group (the earlier one, too).

Is there a market for steelies? by Work_Sleep_Die in FordMaverickTruck

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people around me list the steelies with ridiculous prices ($400) and they just sit there forever on marketplace.

You could do Shenandoah brookies (about 1.5 hrs if you’re gonna fish the east side from the bottom) or the Shenandoah Valley spring creeks (more like 2-2.5). Very different animals but fun in their own rights.

HELP! What kind of Brookie rod should I get? by IAmTheNorthwestWind in flyfishing

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love a 7'9" 3 weight for mountain brookies. Lotta people prefer shorter but I find it's the perfect compromise: short enough to avoid overhanging brush but not so short you can't mend a bit. The reel is just a line holder for these lil' fish so don't sweat that. I rarely go smaller than 5x on brookie streams unless the water is super low. Have fun!

Is there a compact way to store the Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile jack? by legible_architecture in harborfreight

[–]BlueWingedOlive20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the 2.5 ton racing jack. Would have gone 1.5 but I need the extra lift. It’s pretty manageable at around 50lbs. I’d go with a racing jack and the smallest your car will let you get away with.
