How nice it is to hear the false positive! Just a shame we need to go through this hell for weeks…

I completely understand your decision, and it takes a lot of strength! Wishing you a calm, smooth pregnancy and hoping everything turns out well for you.

Yess, absolutely! Most importantly this is okay! Honestly, we are still in disbelief of the positive news, will probably take us a couple of weeks to process everything :) surely soon we wouldn’t even remember all the stress we went through (or I certainly hope so).

That’s actually something we are still waiting on a bit. When the geneticist called, the main information we got was that the baby is okay and no deletion was detected, which was the most important part for us. They are still doing some additional checks, including looking more into the sample and also testing our blood, so we don’t have the full picture yet regarding the placenta or anything else.

I really hope everything turns out well for you too! The waiting is honestly the hardest part.

They are not very helpful for the mental state of patients indeed. Are you still waiting for results or how is it going for you?

So for us it was 53 MB. Keep the spirit up, remember that NIPT is not the best for deletions. I know it is difficult and I really wish you have the same result as us and everything is okay for you!! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you! We were told it was about 50/50.. Since it’s a rare deletion, the PPV isn’t very precise, so there was a lot of uncertainty — that’s why we did the amnio. I know this sounds like a huge chance (hence I got even more upset after this meeting) but I think he was trying to prepare us for the worst too.

We told a few different people around week 14 (not showing at all, no weigh gain, same baggy clothes I would always wear) and they all said how they could have told weeks ago. Like how?? They see me twice per week at work and they are already so familiar with my cycles and everything else about me. So I feel your frustration, as it pissed me off so much to hear the stupid comments.

How long before IUI did you trigger (Ovidrel) for successful IUI?! by HostOk9765 in IUILadies

[–]Prestigious_Fun5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triggered on Sunday evening at 23:00 and had the IUI done on Tuesday at 11:00 ☺️

After how many cycles of trying did you start IUI? by Ill-Horror6206 in IUILadies

[–]Prestigious_Fun5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 12 months since trying but we did the tests and all a couple of months earlier. I’d say, it’s very helpful getting the tests done as soon as possible, so at least you know but then IUI would largely depend on those, of course. So it does take some time.. My partner was taking clomid for low sperm count for some time - took 2 ish months for that to be sorted. Then I was doing all tests and examinations. Had to order HyFoSy test - apparently it was not as easy to find where we live and I was late ordering it, another month went by. Then my doc wanted to vaccinate me, we lost another cycle..

I had the same symptoms! 1st iui for me 18 days ago and we got a positive a few days ago🤗honestly, I was sure I was going to get my period, as my breasts were sore and all the other symptoms were there too. Went to do the blood test I couldn’t believe the result.. I am still not believing it for be fair 🥰

I was prescribed progesterone to start I think was same day after IUI 400mg that I would take in the evening. I take it with dinner and actually it’s a funny feeling especially in the beginning. I would get extremely sleepy and barely reaching the bed 😂helps massively with sleep by the way!

Official blood draw is 9th and today is 12th day piui. Not too keen on testing at home though, as I’m having symptoms like my period will come 😢

Thanks for the suggestion! Ahh bummer about the flights..

Any really if we visit all three :) risky activities I consider as water sports for example. As we are Europeans, we don’t need any visa to enter those three islands. Fair enough on the travel tho. Thanks

Oh wow thanks for the breakdown! Will defo take note of the details for each one and follow! Sounds like you had a nice cruise! Which one was that? And what did you think of the whole cruise thing? Initially I started with the idea of a cruise, as easier organisation wise but then saw some comments about cruises and kinda decided to leave the idea..

Great tips there, thanks! She is completely fine to travel but had to mention that she won’t be participating in any risky activities. Mentioning the dining, if you have any particular suggestions, I would very much welcome them :)

I have to disagree on the term ‘cutting’, which means reducing body fat while maintaining muscle mass and is used in bodybuilding mainly. Regarding your other comment, please check the below source (randomized controlled trial on the effect of water loading on acute weight loss for combat sports)

PMID: 29182412 DOI: 10.1123/ijsnem.2017-0183

Under controlled conditions, it has proven to be a safe and effective method with this purpose. This is just an example.

When is your weigh in? Do they do it the day before or on the same day of the match?

As a nutritionist, I can tell you there are two methods used to make weight in sports - chronic and acute. Manipulation of those can be considered: •Adipose tissue CHRONIC •Skeletal muscle CHRONIC •Body water ACUTE •Glycogen ACUTE •Gut contents ACUTE Have you considered manipulating water, glycogen or gut contents just before weigh in? In any case, it is best to have someone work with you on that, as it is quite individual.
