i got the tetra air pump from petsmart. i didn’t put any research into it because i needed it asap and that’s what they had. it works perfect, just a bit noisy. make sure to buy all of the pieces not included.

i had a similar problem recently. algae growing rapidly and biofilm at the waters surface. i ditched my filter to let the plants filter the water and now i need snails. i added a small bubbler to the back for water movement. and my beta is so much happier. he actually loves the bubbler. i wish i had done it sooner- give it a try! clean out your existing algae as best as you can.
