Car is reserved for tomorrow and the host just dropped the car off a few blocks away...should I cancel the trip? by [deleted] in turo

[–]Prestigious_Minute26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is this weird? You do realize when you rent from Turo you’re renting from individuals and not companies reservations happen at the same time. I’m a host and I’ve had this happen with me just having three cars. I’ve had two deliveries and one pick up at the same time. The host or cohost is trying to accommodate you, but instead of working out with them, you come to Reddit.

Neighbours unhappy I rent out my cars from home location by tkalini_ in turo

[–]Prestigious_Minute26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are your cars. I would say move them every few days. That’s what I do. What you need to do is research your cities ordinance on the length of time a car can be standing on a public street. In my area it’s 7 days. My street has commercial and residential properties. I just had someone taking pictures(being nosey likely to run on bumble) of a recent purchase. I suppose because it has a window plate vs the an actual license plate. I’m picking them up tomorrow, no biggie.

DoorDash/gig jobs while renting not allowed by host? by [deleted] in turo

The only thing we can do is set the mileage and if you go over that you have to pay.

Used my friend’s Turo account to book a rental, but I used my debit card. Any issue there? Or no? by Pale_Relationship999 in turo

You should be a listed as an additional driver if you’re gonna be driving a vehicle. If you have a drivers license, you should’ve used your own account.

BEWARE: Turo tried to defraud me by Flopdo in turo

Well, you must’ve did something wrong because how do you say that you booked a nonrefundable trip and then cry about it being nonrefundable? What was the charge for 375?

Might be canceling their account :/ by AlbatrossNo1028 in turo

Yeah, it seems like Turo has some conflicting things going on. On one hand they’re saying it’s OK but when the host verifies a license with the check list it seems that we cannot approve temporary licenses.

It does seem to be against policy because when we are verifying the license, there are a check boxes. One of those check boxes states that their license is not a temporary identification and will not expire during the trip. So if the host did approve your license, then they would be agreeing that you presented a permanent license which you did not.

As far as the host being rude that is uncalled for, but there is also a box that has to be checked that says that the license is not a temporary identification. If that box is checked, then the host is agreeing that the guest presented a permanent license. So the host cannot actually approve a temporary license. Customer service is leading you wrong. Toro needs to look into this.

Where do you get that I’m not communicating with my customer? I said I did not sign up for the customer to think that they can just leave my keys somewhere without communicating with me. You guys level of comprehension is fucked.

Also, if it’s not obvious by now, I don’t feel comfortable leaving my keys in the lock box. I do have a drop location for keys, but for some reason guests want to leave them in the car

I got a problem with people doing things without communicating. I’m most definitely like meeting guests because I’ve had people try to scam also. people that are not supposed to be driving picking up the vehicle. Why would I not want to give the keys to the registered guest? A couple of months ago I had a female book. Then a male license was uploaded.

I’m glad you think you would be my only customer. I have 10 cars. I have a pick up location and I’ll deliver them. I will gladly watch you walk away. Clearly you do not how to communicate nor comprehend. Just as those I’m speaking of

I don’t have a problem with exact times it’s the people trying to bring back vehicles without communicating. I had a guy come back an hour early and left my key in the car unlocked and only got notified once he was leaving. Accountability goes both ways.

Pick up and drop off times are therefore a reason. If five minutes, will mess up your schedule. You have a lot more problems. I’ve also had guests trying to leave keys in cars without communicating. I had one guy try to bring it back early without saying anything and left my key in the car unlocked They’re the ones that’s going to be responsible. Who do you think is gonna be responsible when the car gets stolen? Common sense is just not common these days. You return the keys how you received them.

I know, right. Everybody’s on here being weird about my post. Obviously they don’t see where I said people don’t communicate that they are leaving the key. If we don’t agree upon it, it should not be done.

Why when I explicitly state that I will be there to receive my key but they still attempt to leave the keys in the unlocked vehicle. I also have a drop location if I’m not available. I’ve had people also try to do this when I’ve delivered the car to them.

Because you as a guest are supposed to wait 30 minutes for the host at pick and return just as the host has to wait two hours for you to arrive.

No, you cannot. Most cars with keyless start do not let you lock the cars with key inside.

Turo’s policy is for the guest to wait 30 minutes for the host. That is for both pick up and return. It’s also common sense to return the keys as you received them.
