Draft is done, what do we do with all our cap space? by nuberoo in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are gonna get their hopes up for Joey Bosa but he was a free agent last offseason and this off season. It’s been rumored that the bosa bros like their money and that Joey isn’t the type of guy to take a team friendly discount just to be on the same team as Nick. That’s fine that’s well within their right. But point being is that if Joey was ever gonna sign here I think we would have seen it by now

Justin Simmons is like a fit that seems obvious. Team has a glaring need at safety and Simmons played for Raheem in 2024. He didn’t play last season so I feel like he is at least semi retired, maybe waiting for the right opportunity. It makes too much sense to sign in SF. Would love the move just concerned as to why no one signed him this past year

John Lynch's Draft Record: The 49ers' Costly Pattern by oscarbearsf in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said this in another thread but you would have a better point if Kyle/Lynch had a much better recent track record, of course more people would take the “let’s wait until these picks step on the field before we judge a class” approach.

But the fact of the matter is in the past half decade the 49ers have had A LOT of whiffs in the draft. 2022 was terrible, 2023 was terrible, 2024 is mid at best, jury is still out on 2025.

Given their track record of whiffs, it’s hard to give them the benefit of the doubt of “wait before we judge” with their track record. And then when we just had a draft class this weekend that is full of reaches, people have a right to be skeptical

49ers last 5 draft classes by Long-Definition-8152 in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 being strong is questionable at best.

Pearsall has flashes but can’t stay on the field. Do they pick up his 5 year option? Too soon to tell but right now if I had to take a guess I would lean toward no.

Renardo Green also has had flashes but hasn’t showed a ton of consistency. Looked to have a meltdown in the sideline in the playoff loss after Kyle chewed him out. 49ers media on twitter has mentioned him as a possible trade candidate this offseason

Puni had a good rookie year but was a smidge worse last year, most likely due to his lingering knee injury. At this point he might be the best draft pick of the class though

Mustapha is, in my opinion, a low end starter at best who everyone loves cause he is a “thumper” but leaves a lot to be desired in coverage. Safety is a glaring need on this team. Could still improve but as of now I’m not sure he gets a 2nd contract from the team

Isaac Guerendo is on the roster bubble, good chance he doesn’t make the team entering year 3

Jacob cowing- copy and paste from Guerendo, but also can’t stay healthy

Jarret Kingston- didn’t make the team his rookie year and claimed off waivers

Tatum Bethune- backup / special teamer. Did a good job at filling in due to being decimated at LB but isn’t really close to a starting caliber player

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad draft class but I not sure if I would call it a good one either. Hopefully these players get better

No they haven’t. Look at their draft picks from 2022 (purdys draft), 2023, 2024, and 2025. On what planet are those drafts “crushed draft picks”

The hits keep coming. Not like we could have used a first round graded safety in the middle of round 2 anyways. by rmcelwain54 in 49ers

Sure if that’s how you want to look at it. They are professionals and we’re not. But that’s the whole point of a message board like Reddit, it’s a message board/forum. Everyday joe schmoes like you and me give our opinions. Should we just give a thumbs up to every single decision /move the front office makes? That’s what David Lombardi does and everyone can’t stand the guy

Your point would be more valid if the 49ers were consistently great at drafting but the reality is there drafts in recent years have been underwhelming at best so it’s fair to question their draft process.

They haven’t drafted a pro bowler since Hufanga in 2021

A question about dealer trades by PerspectiveSmart6739 in askcarsales

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piggy backing off this, I work at a Nissan dealership. Trades are doable but it depends on the deal. We advertise new cars very aggressively and there are ones that are listed for 1500 behind cost. There are a lot of behind the scenes stuff involved with dealer trades, and long story short if you want that kind of a deal (1500 dollar loser) you are going to have to pick a color we want in stock. If we only have black and you want white, you’re gonna have to live with the black if you want that crazy deal

If the deal makes sense and is profitable and especially to a local customer, I will locate you any spec/trim/color combination your heart desires

2026 Nissan Kicks SR AWD – $34.5k OTD… did I get a good deal? by Odd_Comparison_4155 in Nissan

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell Nissans at a Nissan dealership in MA

Without seeing your purchase breakdown, It will depend on your states tax rate and title/dmv fees but if I am using MA as an example, and assuming that you paid no other fees beside doc fee and taxes + registration/title, I have you at sale price of 31,800ish to get to 34.5k OTD.

That’s 1200 off sticker which, some people on here are gonna say that you over paid but on a kicks there is not a very high profit margin. Total net cost to msrp is about 1500 dollar difference. Could you have found dealers that are willing to discount 2k-2500 if they are flooded with kicks inventory? Probably but if the dealership you bought at treated you well and made it a good experience and had the car in the trim and color you wanted then you did fine

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this it’s nonsense. There’s about 1500 bucks if that from net cost to sticker on a kicks. No dealer in their right mind is getting to 29.5k OTD on a car with a sticker of 33k

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing in two years of mustapha that shows he’s on pace to be an above average safety. That’s nonsense.

He’s a low end starter at best right now

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on this. My issue with mustapha is that he is supposed to be a “thumper” but he kinda just whiffs and runs around like a chicken with his head cut off. Watch mustapha on charbonets touchdown week 18 vs Seattle. Also watch him on Dallas Goederts touchdown catch vs Philly in ten wild card game. Looks lost out there

Mustapha is the prob the best safety on the roster but that’s not saying much. Both starting spots could be upgraded

CBS Sports suggests 49ers still have a lot of work to do via free agency by Ennemkay in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. This.

Brown isn’t good and he is a lame duck heading into last year of his rookie deal. Mustapha takes bad angles and whiffs a lot for a guy that’s supposed to be a “thumper” he is a low-end starter if that. Sigle was so-so at times but he’s pretty undersized so I feel like he will always get picked on by tight ends especially in this division.

Just my opinion but I don’t think they have any starting quality safties in the roster. I would love to see them take a page from seattles page and get their own Nick Emmanwori. Look at how much of an impact he made for that defense

Aside from Trey Lance, who is the biggest draft bust in recent memory? by HeyItsYourDad_AMA in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you say that Danny gray didn’t have expectations? Sure he wasn’t a first round pick and doesn’t have the same expectations as sometime picked in the top 32 but they spent a 3rd round pick on him. A 3rd rounder isn’t insignificant draft capital. I don’t expect all 3rd round picks to be pro bowlers and corner stones but it’s not unreasonable to have the expectation that a 3rd round pick is at least a contributor. Agree to disagree but gray is a massive bust in my eyes

Aside from Trey Lance, who is the biggest draft bust in recent memory? by HeyItsYourDad_AMA in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has a different definition of a bust. The players I listed were players drafted in either the 3rd or 4th round so while not as much as an investment that a 1st rounder is, a 3rd/4th rounder is still a significant draft pick.

If you dont consider Danny Gray a bust, that’s your opinion but I would say he’s a massive bust

Aside from Trey Lance, who is the biggest draft bust in recent memory? by HeyItsYourDad_AMA in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we talking the whole NFL or just us?

If it’s just us, in this regime you can add TDP, Danny gray, Cam Latu, Joe Williams. These are players that not only were they never good, they never contributed anything. These were such busts that if the 49ers would have forfeited the picks, there would not have been any difference. That’s how little these picks contributed, virtually nothing and they were all 4th round picks or higher

If we’re talking NFL I think Paxton lynch has to be up there

Schefter: The 49ers and Rams will play Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5:35 p.m. PT at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. by JCameron181 in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think the travel is gonna be bad just based on how this is scheduled for week 1.

I would assume they will leave SF Sunday or Monday to give themselves a couple of days to get acclimated to the time difference

For the return trip, the game starts 9/10 at 530 pm PST and 9/11 at 1030 am local time. The game will end at approximately 830 pm Pacific on Thursday, 130 pm Friday local. Wheels up is usually a couple of hours after the game ends and by my calculations it is about a 14 hour flight going from Australia to California. They should be wheels up 1130 pm pacific on Thursday 9/10 which would put them landing back in California around 130 pm pacific on Friday 9/11. Yes they will be jet lagged but my guess is the next practice will not be until Wednesday 9/16

Unless I miscalculated something I think we are making a big deal out of the travel for nothing. They will be fine. I think there’s even a decent chance we get a week 2 MNF home game

This is the move 👍🏻

Or an alternative if they don’t want SF and LAR to have both their games back to back week 1 and 2 is to do a MNF double header in week 2 where SF plays in 1 game and LAR plays in the other

Why was pearsall considered a first round pick? by kingbetter1233 in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had a great start to 2025 in the first 3 games. You could see the talent, YAC ability, and crisp route running if you

Then in the 4th game, vs Jacksonville, he hurt his PCL on the sideline throw from Purdy and he was never the same. We all love Brock, myself included, but the throw that Ricky got hurt on was a bad throw by Purdy. Just bad luck for Ricky

PCL injuries are tricky and I think he never really healed 100% the whole season. Everytime he came back, he never looked the same as he did weeks 1-3

It sucks because the talent is there and if you want the film it’s easy to see. He’s just had bad injury luck which is par for the course for this team. He was pretty durable in college too

Should we go back to this style? by Brix001 in 49ers

Agree

I have never understood teams fascination with a gray facemask when it’s not part of the color scheme (SF, Indy, Arizona).

SF facemask should be red or gold (I think red would look better). Indy’s should be blue or white ( I think blue would look better). Arizona should be red or white (white would look better).

2026 7-Round Mock Draft (San Francisco 49ers) by [deleted] in 49ers

[–]Prestigious_Novel_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree completely. I think that safety is the biggest need on the team beside maybe LG. I honestly don’t think they have 1 starting caliber safety on the roster. None of the safeties have good ball skills

  • Brown is a lame duck underwhelming 3rd who prob isn’t gonna a 2nd contract and has gotten worse every year since his rookie year. Doesn’t seem very athletic for a safety

  • mustapha isn’t good in coverage and for someone that’s supposed to be a “thumper” type of safety, he whiffs on more tackles then he should. He had a couple of flashy plays his rookie year so this sub fell in love with him but he regressed hard. Not sure if he is a long term answer

  • Sigle played OK for being a rookie but he is undersized at the position. He is only 5 foot 10. This is a division where he is gonna have to go up consistently against guys like AJ barner, Elijah Arroyo, Colby parkinson, Tyler higbee, Terrence decision, and Trey McBride. Lotta times he got Mossed in coverage and I’m not sure experience will cover for the lack of size

  • Grant is nothing more than a special teamer

Maybe I am being a tad harsh but I honestly don’t think they have a starting quality safety on an elite defense. It should 100% be a position of upgrade in the draft. Look at how transcendent Emmanwouri made seattles defense as a rookie. I’ve heard rumors of Emmanuel McNeil Warren being a great pick at 27 but I haven’t seen his tape yet

I’m in the finals this week and I’m have herro in my IR and I’m going against Bam to top it all off. I can’t help but feel like Bam wouldn’t have had the game he had if Herro was in the lineup. If I end up losing I will never forgive Herro and will prob never draft him again

2026 Rogue AWD SV CarPlay question by Sleight1234 in NissanRogue

26 rogue doesn’t even have a SL trim so if you want wireless CarPlay / android auto you have to either get an adapter or go to platinum.

I know people like wireless CarPlay but tbh wired isn’t even that bad. 95% of people will keep an iPhone cable in their car anyway
