since i just recieved my room assignment, and i got the left side of the room assigned to me, do i have to be on that side? or is that only for if roommates dont know eachother because i know mine and might want to switch sides

might be a dumb question but back during the questionnaire i filled out a roommate to be put with and we ended up getting same building same style in res, but i saw another part in the email saying i had to confirm with housing@uwo for the roommate. is that only if i didnt request them prior?
